Beautiful touch to the tables.

I bought this as a gift for a young tutoring student who has been working all summer to earn points toward a surprise--thought a musical carousel would be a nice tie-in to the Coney Island setting of a book we have been reading. However, this thing is such a piece of junk that I cannot bear to give it to my sweet student. I didn't think this carousel would be a work of art, but I did expect it to be made of wood (as listed) and not plastic. The sound also has a terrible tinny quality, and the song does not play smoothly. The box was all beat up and (as another reviewer noted) the knob on the toy was poking through the top. I wouldn't keep this for myself, let alone give it as a gift. It is worth about $1 to $2, if that!

Overall I was disappointed with how cheaply made this is. Realistically this is like a $5.00 product. Personally, the fact that it was plastic didn't bother me, but it is advertised as wooden, so just know what you are signing up for. I got this for my three year old who won't know any better, but this would not be a good gift for someone much older than three or four. At least I won't care if she breaks it!EDIT: After seeing my daughter play with it for awhile, I upped my rating. It's pretty sturdy and I'm actually glad it is plastic and not wood. The song is way out of tune, but it kind of gives it character. I still think it might be a disappointment for a 6+ year old, but otherwise, it's a decent little toy.

The item was not as advertised. It’s not wooden, it’s cheap plastic. The music is different than a review video posted. The item within the box doesn’t even match the picture on the outside of the box. I am debating whether to return it or save my time. I would personally look elsewhere.

This was a gift for a 3 year old girl who loves merry go rounds. Sine no batteries are needed she can play with it as much as she wants. It's easy enough for her to wind up on her own which gives her the freedom to play it whenever she wants. I got it because it's made from wood and I don't have to worry about her breaking it.

I bought this for my mother to give for my daughter's baby shower. My mom doesn't use computers. My mom was pleased with it. Can't wait to see my daughter's reaction.
