Little House on the Prairie Series 7 Books Collection by Laura Ingalls Wilder

This is a beautiful set! I only wish it included Farmer Boy. My children have all enjoyed the books as they've grown and I love getting to hear them again as I share the books with my youngest child.

The books were great/ a gift for my niece/ but I assumed they came boxed, but they were loose. Everything else was fine.

Wonderful set! Nice paperbacks, more modern illustrations on the covers, but with the original Garth Williams illustrations inside. Yes they are printed in the UK, but I'm halfway through the set and have not noticed any variant word spellings at all, much less any that would bother me. I loved the Little House books when I was younger (and had the maturity to understood you need to take the books in their historical context), and as an adult I love Ms Wilder's descriptions of what life was like back then and the beautiful unspoiled country. I hope these books are around a very long time.

I did not find these books until later in life. I'm almost 60. After watching my way through every season of Little House on the Prairie tv series, I discovered the non fiction writings of Laura Ingalls Wilder. They may have been written for 5th graders to understand but I have a hard time putting them down. They detail events and ways of life that fell quite short in the "Hollywood" depiction. Mrs. Wilder has a writing style that vividly takes you there without being overly descriptive and definitely not boring. The adventurer in me loves them!

I knew that this was not a boxed set. However, there were two bands of plastic plus three layers of cellophane around the books!!! Why??? Now all the books have slightly crinkled corners. I get what I pay for here. The inside of the books is still the wonderful part. My daughter is already halfway through the first one and loves it. That is what is important!

The western settlement would not have been possible without the incredibly self reliant and ambitious families like Ingles writes about. Her story takes us back 120 years and examines the skills that are required to live on your own know how and skills. The teamwork necessary for families to excel is evident in so many stories. We love them.

La storia è meravigliosa, ben scritta e piena di amore e valori. Dimenticate la serie TV che pur coi suoi pregi divaga fin troppo. I libri sono meravigliosi. Li avevo già, ma ho preso questa edizione perché aveva dei bellissimi disegni . Unico difetto, la qualità della carta è mediocre, ma il prezzo dei volumetti in blocco è vantaggiosissimo .
