I've been using a Goody brush like this one for the last 10 years
I've been using a Goody brush like this one for the last 10 years, its really the only style of brush I like, everything else either catches and yanks, or has no ability to style my hair. When my old one fell apart, I was kind of disappointed when I searched goodie brush and it was 12 dollars! Not sure why making something "heritage" makes it worth twice as much, and I have no idea why Denman, thinks their identical brand of brush is worth twice as much either, so I was very happy to find this one for about $6.50.As a note; the color is random, and I got a blue one, which is my preference, but the same may not happen for you!

3c/4a approved
The brush is meant to define curls. I had to take out four rows because the shrinkage was real. I have 3c curls so when I straighten it its passed my shoulder blades, with the brush intact it was to my ears, with the modifications it barely hits the top of my shoulders. I will say that the modification was also necessary because I am still transitioning from heat damage and the brush helps to those sections some waves but unfortunately it only really curls my ends (on the heat damaged sections). I mostly used the brush for twist outs because it perfectly distributes the produces and prepares it better than any other styling tool I've used so far.

A close 2nd to my mom's favorite brush.
My mother has been using her same hair brush that her beautician sold her in the 1970s! It had an acrylic wood-grain handle with this same red rubber spine backing, and 9 rows of pliable black teeth (the kind without the balls on the end). Well, after decades of use, the rubber finally cracked and split enough that she has been looking for a replacement. Guess who's in charge of finding it. "Well, Mom, they don't make those anymore, so you'll have to try one of these." She tries them, although indignantly, and settles on two. She has medium-short, thick, wavy hair, but I really don't think that part matters as much as the fact that she's never had to try anything different for 40 years. After receiving this one and another product from Amazon (you'll probably find a similar review there), she's decided that this one is good enough to be her travel brush. But she liked the handle on the other one better, so it is now her everyday brush. I can see her point as this one is harder to hold and control due to the ratio of the head size to the handle. The other brand just feels a little sturdier. For all 3 of you who are still using their 1970s hairbrush, and are nervous as to where to find a close replica, she recommends the Denman brand. I recommend living a little.

Detangles
I used this Denman brush on my daughter's afro 3a/3b hair and it detangled her very curly hair perfectly and didnt pull her hair out. Now my hair is kinky 4b/4c and i havnt really used it because my transitional hair is so fragile i think this brush might not be good to use at this time. I bought this brush to use when i go completely natural. I have heard great things aboout this brush's ability to detangle kinky hair. BIG TIP: makes sure you remove every other row of teeth for best results detangling kinky/very curly hair without pulling your hair-refer to utube to show you how.

Disappointed
Not the same as the last one I had, bristles and a little too pointed, almost sharp.

Beats having the denman
This brush works just like the denman brand and was sent quickly to me. Packaging was perfect and the brush detangles my hair when it's wet or dry. Since it's plastic do not use any heat or the teeves will melt in your hair. These kinds of brushes our never meant to use when blow drying your hair on any setting. I recommend this seller and the brush for all hair types ( great detangler).I thinking about purchasing another brush for a standby or to get one for my mama. Thanks!

Melts When Used with Blow Dryer
I used this brush growing up for years and years. Worked well for blowing my hair strait. I bought grown up brushes for the last 10 years. I wasn't happy with my current one for straightening so I bought this stand by again since it's cheap and it had worked in the past. I've purchased 3 recently and the bristles melted out on the first 2 and are already melting out of shape on the most recent (see pics.) And what kills me most is they market this product as perfect for blow outs on the packaging! Someone should sue them for false advertising. I never had this problem with this product in the past (and yes I've always used the same blow dryers - a Con Air). They must have started making it with cheaper materials. All I know is I'll never throw my money away again.
