To the nay sayers
I am very skeptical of all products. Especially internet purchases. But this putting mat is really cool. I got the extra long one which is 15ft long. The right side has a smaller hole and the left is standard, which is perfectly fine. The wood ball return isn't perfect but works okay. This will definitely help "ANYONE" with their putting game. I did read the other reviews and if there is something wrong, then send it back and get another one, maybe there was something not done right. There were no wrinkles that did not easily relax with just laying flat, there was no lip before the hole that made the ball jump. It works great and I like it, what more can i say.

Don’t let Perfect be the enemy of Good
After 4 weeks of use, 1. Developed with price in mind. It is not a $3,000 simulated turf putting green and don’t expect it to be. 2. All practice drills and tools each have a specific purpose this is no different it is one piece of the puzzle. Perfect Practice will definitely allow you to refine your putting stoke and fundamentals to help you become an overall better putter but it is one piece. 3. It is manufactured and packaged with price a key consideration. Good to high quality; but making it optimal for shipping pricing has caused them to fold or roll the surface more than I believe they wanted to and I can imagine the product team discussion on this point. 4. Getting the surface to lay flat. Depending on what you desire it will be a challenge. I laid things out as you see in my photo. It had more bumps than I would prefer. I gave it a couple of days. Not much change. I then took a 8’ 1x12 and placed it on 1/2 with two cinder blocks on top for three days. Only minimal improvement - sill more bumps and higher than I preferred. I used a steam iron “carefully” without much improvement. I then took a staple gun (this is where it will always be and no one will be moving it) and I stapled it at the bump points on the edges. I’m a golfer and I don’t care about the hardwood floor…and it’s a game room. This improved things considerably but I still had humps or slight bumps that influenced the ball roll enough that I finally we to the nuclear option. 4” wide double sided rug tape. I pulled out the staples and then very carefully found the bumps and applied the tape to those sections, starting at the cup end and working my way back down the runway until complete. Even then there remained some rises along the piping on the edge that I still stapled down. At this point I was all in anyway. Now I have a Perfect Practice setup like the factory did it. And I can use the full 15 feet with out the surface having any influence on the ball. Actually I probably fixed it too good. It’s a hardwood flood and I did not consider the very subtle crown the boards have. On the long putts which have higher speed if I do not get the putt rolling smoothly it can bounce on occasion. But that is good visual feedback and I know immediately what I did. Finally, my rating is high. Just because I’m a golf nut it was not fair to be hard on these folks with my goal of perfection. This is why I titled this “do not let Perfect be the enemy of Good” You do not have to do all that I have to have a very good inexpensive putting practice tool that will make you much improved at putting. And if you like to be perfect you now know what it will take….most likely. Oh, and make sure it is a space your wife will let you get away with doing what I have done. I’m a lucky man

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, NOT FOR SERIOUS PUTTING IMPROVEMENT
I waited for this Perfect Practice V5 XL 15' mat to go on sale and snag at first opportunity. What a disappointment, at relatively proper roll speed (+/- 2 feet from the cup), the ball bounces and is deflected off its path once it reaches the intersection of incline. There's no smooth transition due to lack of underlying support at the mat's area of incline transition). Unlike my $50 mat or my $500 indoor green, when you tap the ball to test roll accuracy of this mat's surface, the ball will roll off its path significantly in random directions well before coming to a complete stop. If you want to practice at higher roll speed, the mat seems to be truer and the deflection at the point of incline is not as impactful, but in my opinion, practicing at roll stimp speeds well beyond 14 will cause you to add strokes to your short game.I have not used previous versions of Perfect Practice mats and did not come across any other quality issues as mentioned by other reviewers. This version 5 does lay flat right out of the box! I did not see any quality issues with the wood components. I am returning this mat and I do not recommend this product for serious putting improvement, not even if it was discounted 75%, just disappointed. In my opinion, shame on any professional golfer that endorses this product for serious improvement.

Your floor is not flat
Had to iron it and once I did the ball rolled straight. Bought the xl size. Everything about it seems well built. Not cheap looking. Your floor is probably not perfectly flat and this item will teach you that. May need to move it around a bit to get the best roll on the ball. I really like it.

Ball doesn't return down the track. The mat is folded flat with a lot of hard creases.
So to start off. I got this before the holidays for an xmas gift. By the time the gift was opened at xmas. The 30 day return window was expired. The base of the product was completely smashed in pieces. The companies support team would take 3 weeks to respond. When I got the replacement today (Valentines day). The box was being held together by tape, but thankfully the items inside were fine. The ball doesn't have enough momentum to return down the long track. It seems to get stuck half way. But can be worked around. The creases in the mat were expected, but wow are there a LOT of them. Seems like we will need to set heavy objects on it for a few days before it is usable. I am left feeling like the mat could have been made a lot better.I wouldn't buy again not just because of the long replacement process, but because the item just doesn't feel like it is worth it's price. Nor is it treated as such by it's creators/handlers. Both boxes have been really beat up. One literally has been used as cutting surface for a box cutter. There is a random yet perfect squared angle cleanly cut in one of the boxes.Edit: its been weeks and the mat still isnt flat. Do not buy.2nd edit: Its been half a year and the creases are still there. It sits unused.
