The generator head would not be water resistant.

What kind of bracket do you need to hold it down?

This NorthStar belt driven generator head has 2 bottom bolt hole (feet) for mounting with a 3rd bolt hole in the body of the generator head. The bolt holes for mounting are 2" in the front and 1" in the rear. Mount the generator and engine to a common base such as a heavy-duty metal plate of at least ¼” thickness. Bolt the generator to the mounting base using three, 1/2” grade 8 bolts.
