I've seen these about for years and never bought one. For beginners, they recommend a wooden construction instead of acrylic or plastic. I wanted to choose one which had a nice design, and also a good quality sound. Based on the other reviews, I chose this one.Firstly, the item was packaged pretty well. No space was wasted. In the box, you get the kalimba itself, a bag which you can store it in, various stickers for the notation, a song book (which I didn't use), a cleaning microfiber cloth and a tuning hammer.The craftsmanship is really high quality for this product. The engraved designs add to the overall look and feel. In terms of the tines - they were all in tact and produced really lovely sound. I had no broken tines which is good - as often at this price point, people point out typically that the tynes won't all be in tact. Also out of the box, the kalimba was in tune which was greatI liked how the tines are engraved with the notes - this is much better than having stickers on the product and just makes it a bit easier to use. The sound quality produced by them is pretty decent.The cons for this kalimba are only two minor things. The first is the finish used. To me, it looks nice, however it would easily scratch. The 'storage bag' seems pretty low quality and while is a nice gimmick - it would probably be better to purchase something a little more substantialOverall, I'd say this is a good value kalimba. You get a really high quality instrument, which produces a lovely sound and has great craftsmanship.Pros: 👌🏼- High quality instrument with nice engravings to the wood- In tune tines out of the box- Engravings on the tines, meaning you don't need to use stickers if you do not want to- Ergonomic shape, it can be held for quite a while with no issues- Good soundCons: 👎🏻- Carry bag is low quality and will offer no real protection- The finish on the kalimba looks prone to scratches over time

Bought for a musical 5 year old but it is good enough quality for adults too. It has a beautiful sound, she plays it to her baby sister. Amazing quality for the price.

I saw this instrument on Tiktok and my 12 year old son instantly wanted one, so it made a perfect Christmas gift.The set is lovely and it is VERY easy to play and the sound is so nice - if your kid is going to be learning to play something, this isn't unpleasant to listen to for 3 hours a day of the same song.Every home should have one - happy to answer questions :)

Bought this particular one because of the tuning book/instructions included. The instructions to tune it are extremely poor & difficult to understand due to poor translation. No good for children! We spent 20 minutes following an online tutorial on how to tune it instead. And we’re a very musical family used to tuning countless other instruments.That said, the sound is wonderful and the kalimba itself is a beautiful instrument. Definitely recommend a kalimba as a gift but if you want a decent book to accompany it, buy another model.
