Buttons & Pleats Wool Socks for Men & Women Merino Thermal Warm Cozy Winter Boot Sock

My hubby LOVES these socks. Says they're warm and wick moisture really well, that they're really comfortable and are thick enough to help prevent blisters.

I've been wearing these socks regularly for over a year, washing them occasionally but not every wearing, and they're still extremely thick and cozy even in the heels where I'd expect holes to appear first. Highly recommended.

I paired these with non insulated leather boots and they kept my feet warm through Wisconsin Winter. At size 9, I ordered a medium-large, and they fit great. The grey/black heather also matches with basically any pants and are versatile. My primary praise is the warmth. These are the warmest socks I have worn yet and that is greatly appreciated in Wisconsin. I didn't notice any shrinking during regular washing and drying on medium settings, and cannot complain about durability.

I am truly torn on these Buttons & Pleats socks. On one hand they are a good size, relatively warm, are merino wool, don't slip off in large snow boots, handle wash cycles well, don't seems to lose their elasticity over time and are a good price. On paper lots of positives.My biggest gripe is regarding the wear. I purhased this item twice, in 2021 and 2024. Let's set the stage. I only wear them from November until March, primarily wear them at home on hardwood floors, don't perform any excessive movements in them other than walking and weigh only 160lbs so wear levels should be relatively minimal. I have noticed however a trend in wear between them, each developing a hole directly at the bottom or thinning where a hole will form soon. It's unfortunate because otherwise the rest of the socks look great and now they'll have to be relegated to dusting duty. If they wore more evenly / slowly I'd call these an amazing value and one of the best winter socks I've found. Bought these for hunting or wearing to work when it is really cold. They are probably the warmest socks I have ever owned. Have used them for at least two winters and they are holding up very well, show very little sign of wear. Was worried that being wool that they would be itchy or uncomfortable, not the case they are in fact very soft and comfortable.

My husband started wearing these for the winter as temperature started to drop below 40 all the way down to about 29°. He works in a warehouse that doesn't have too much insulation so it gets very cold and the size fits him just right and he's a size 13 if I remember correctly. The cotton content isn't scratchy and is relatively soft and smooth but not too soft. I think these socks are more durable than anything and the look of them is okay, but it helps you figure out which ones are the thermal ones and which ones are just regular socks out of the clothes pile. He liked these socks so much that he was willing to wash them immediately after going through all of them just so he could have them for the rest of the week. If that doesn't tell you how good these are, I don't know what will.

So I purchased these socks for my spouse in 2021. They are just now starting to wear out. They are worn in steel toe or mid height boots. He’s worn them in both warm and cold countries. They have worked in all climates. He loves the cushion, yet they aren’t too thick to fit in his shoes.When he’s on the road, he’s usually on cement surfaces, and really needs the cushioning. They deliver! For the $$, they can’t be beat. When they have to be replaced, I’m definitely purchasing them again!

These are not as thick as my old Redhead socks from Bass Pro, but I actually like that about them. They fit in my regular shoes, which my thicker socks couldn't do. But they're thicker and loftier than my mid weight Darn Toughs, for days that are colder. They're warm, don't get sweaty and don't smell, which I think is a good indicator of high wool content. The terry loop inside is really comfy. Great quality for the price. Elastic isn't too tight. Fits my 10.5 mens size perfectly.
