CREATIVE ART MATERIALS Caran D'ache Palette Aquarelle (117.103)

Great palette, super light weight and terrific size for travel. I'm kind of wondering, like another reviewer, if these are really made by Caran d'Ache? As logo is different on product I got and the photo on Amazon.com; and there are sharp edges on palette, plastic manufacturing flaws (like a couple of really tiny chips or flaws around the thumb hole, rough extra plastic on the edge in one spot, like where it was extruded from a machine)--nothing a minute with some sandpaper can't fix, and nothing that affects it's usefulness. Just small manufacturing flaws on this inexpensive plastic palette. Don't see a place of manufacture listed on the plastic wrapper. Happy with purchase (this is a replacement for a previous one that cracked in shipping).

I’ve just begun watercolor pencil studies as a summer teaching project, and found this handy item. So easy to paint on the go with pencils and this palette! Nice portable size for plein air painting. Stains, so best to use the same areas for your colors. I’m told a white cleaning sponge can help keep it clean. White plastic cutting boards also work, but the Caran D’ache is a higher quality item with a finer granular surface, and of a size that is perfect for travel & plein air pencil painting. Perfect for use with my better quality pencils.

I love this pallet, because it have two side, the smooth side and rough side. You can scratch the watercolor pencils on the rough side of the pallet to achieve a beautiful watercolor washes. And more! I love it so much!!!!The artwork in the photo, it's not finished yet.

I thought this palette was silly at first but got it to try out. I was surprised how useful it was with watercolor pencils and watercolor sticks. Sometimes you want to work small or just use a touch of color. Scribbling your pencil on the rough side and activating with water gives you just that, without wasting brushfulls of pigment. Great for studies or multimedia work.

Small so easy for travel. Stains a bit. Clean right away.

Edges are quite sharp in places, especially the thumb hole, ouch! Not the quality one would expect from Caran Dache. $11+ for cheap feeling plastic. On the positive side, all the other products I have purchased from Caran Dache are excellent quality. I wonder if this could possibly be a knock off? The logo is different from the product photo.

Great palette for all paints, textured on one side and smooth on the other. Textured side works incredibly well with watercolor pencils and sticks, just scribble a bit on texture then lift color with brush. Its great if you dont want to leave any pencil lines on whatever you are painting on. Very useful and also easy to clean

This is my favorite new purchase for water color pencils/ water soluble pastels. Photo is Caran D'ache Neocolor II water soluble pastels.There's a textured side and a smooth side. I was skeptical that my wc pencils would still color on it, but they did! So perfectly, too!*It's easier to get in tight spaces*It's easier to blend on the palette*You lose far less waste to sharpening*You don't get any kind of waxy bloomIt's the perfect size. Not to small or too big*It's very easy to clean*You can still use them after they dry. Just rehydrate them after they are dry. *Since they dry fast on the pallette, it's easy to add more color to the same place.I'm not sure how I live without this tool. It's my favorite new purchase. I bought this pallet to use with my watercolour pencils. It has a smooth and rough side. I use the rough side to rub my watercolour pencils against and then add water to release the colour pigments, it’s a great tool to have

La palette en elle même est très bien : juste la bonne taille, un coté lisse et un coté rugueux, je ne connais pas de modèles ayant cette caractéristique.PAR CONTRE : Elle était supposée être neuve, et Amazon m'a envoyé une palette usagée, avec des traces d'utilisation très très visibles. Hum hum...
