I purchased this battery to supplement the one battery that came with my Yaesu FT5D radio. In all aspects the battery performs just as well as the OEM battery in operation. It has the same endurance, charge times, and of quality construction. My ONLY concern on this battery is the belt clip. It can be left off but I have mine attached to the back of the battery with the included screws but it is fixed and of one piece, not a spring loaded movable clip. The fixed clip has some flexibility to go over belts etc. but I do worry that a little too much flex will break the fixed clip. So far so good after a month now. I just can’t tell if I’m near a breaking point or not. It may be that the clip is much stronger than I give it credit but otherwise, I would not hesitate to purchase this battery again. This is a great performer at a great price over OEM.

Perfect fit for my FT-2DR. After a full charge the battery last for a full day of monitoring with light transmitting periods.

The battery when placed side-by-side to Yaesu battery looks identical except for the printing on the sticker.That said the battery clip does not have a spring. My recommendation is be happy with the battery and toss the clip in the trash. If you need a belt clip, purchase the Yaesu belt clip. The overall cost is still far less than purchasing the Yaesu battery.

I own two Yaesu branded SBR-14LI batteries, so I have good comparisons for quality and performance. The Youmei 2200mAh Li-ion Battery Pack Replacement for SBR-14Li is a generic battery that fits the Yaesu FT5D HT. I ordered two of these batteries. Upon close examination, minor visible differences indicate slightly lower quality than the Yaesu branded (OEM) batteries. The weight of the batteries appears to be the same. However, this can be misleading because this battery lasts longer. The plastic clips that retain the battery to the HT are less pronounced than the Yaesu version. I am always cautious with batteries because the power supplied to an HT can easily damage it. Still, this battery holds a longer charge and charges as quickly (or as long) as the Yaesu batteries.Although I have only had these batteries for less than a day, the performance appears better than the OEM batteries because of how the battery indicator behaves—I understand this is very unscientific. However, these batteries lose bars at a slower rate than the Yaesu versions that I own. I know that this can quickly degrade depending on the quality of these Youmei batteries, but only time will tell. Therefore, I will update this review if there are any notable changes. Depending upon the long-term quality of the batteries, I would easily consider ordering these again. This is a great battery. I would recommend it to anyone. It seems every bit as good as the factory original and it’s much cheaper.

I purchased this for an extra, affordable battery for my Yaesu FT3D and it seems to be just as good as the one that came with it. I have charged and ran the battery down 5 times since I bought it a few weeks ago and I have no issues. I'd honestly say I get slightly more useable time out of this battery than the one that came with the radio. My local repeaters are generally quiet so it's in standby for hours. In the field I have found with transmitting I need a spare battery if I'm out all day so having 2 is really nice.As others have noted the clip is basic and doesn't have the spring like the stock battery but since I use my radio in a chest holster I just put the clip in a spare parts box. I doubt I'll use it but it's adequate if you need a basic clip. The fit in the charger is a little tight but the stock one doesn't exactly drop in so not a big deal. It fits regardless and charges on the cradle just fine. As with the stock battery these take quite a while to charge as the cradle from Yaesu isn't a true fast charge. It uses the same power supply out of the box that you would plug directly into the radio and I've found only convenience with the cradle staying plugged in.
