A Perfect Contemporary Light
This is a great porch light upgrade from my old and antiquated glass light. It was relatively easy to install, and judging by my old light, way easier to install than the old-style lights. There are multiple grooves for different mounting possibilities/angles. The cables were extra long and easy to tie to the existing house wires. I really like that it sits so snugly against the wall, but would also say that it was the hardest part during installation--trying to find the right spot for the hole and screw blindly. I don't think there are much better lights without having to go custom, and it's a light that has timeless style because it is the representation of contemporary. I can't think of any major cons. I used a GFC at a lower wattage than the recommended bulb that it wants, to save energy. It works great.

LOVE IT!! 5-stars for beautiful form, function, and ease-of-installation.
Held my breath from the moment I dropped 95 bucks on this until I received it and BOY AM I HAPPY!! This is a beautiful contemporary, solidly-built light that was simple to install. Works great if you have a tall exterior wall you want to bathe with light. I replaced a tired, dated typical coach fixture with this and (combined with a dimmer switch) it lets us "gently" light up our house without annoying our neighbors with a visible light source. Not exactly a "Dark Sky" fixture (what with the one lamp pointing up), but with two Feit PAR30/L/LEDG5 LED Dimmable PAR30 Reflector GEN5 bulbs (available on Amazon) and a Lutron TGCL-153-PH-WH CFL/LED Single-Pole/3-Way Toggle Dimmer (also available on Amazon) this light adds beauty and function to our home. If used outside don't forget to get the Progress Lighting P8799-31 Top Cover Lens.

Tight pool of light
I'm very happy with this light. I specifically wanted a light that only cast light downwards, not the more common up and down configuration. Why? Because I have a window above the front door and it was annoying having light from outside shining in to our living room. I gladly removed the old brass light fitting that the previous owner had installed and I'm so happy with this new one. It looks great, is well made (all metal construction) and casts a tight pool of light downwards.

Good not great
Looks good and does the job, good value. The cleat that holds it to the wall is not well designed, it took me 5-6 times to get the set screw to catch, frustrating. I also bought a similar lamp recently that had a glass cover on the bottom , which I thought was a nice feature for keep bugs out. This lamp is open on the bottom.

Stylish modern light
Used a pair of these to replace two mismatched lights near my front door. Very easy to install, even if the instructions aren't the clearest. Looks sharp and provides plenty of light. PAR30 or R30 bulbs work fine; LED is better than CFL, since there's no 'heat up' time. You could probably put regular A19 bulbs in there too if you wanted - the bulbs are recessed far enough into the tube that the tube itself shapes the light cone, not the bulb type. Got them on sale from Amazon for less than a hundred bucks.

Attractive and Durable
This matches the look of the up/down models that I have, but for applications where the upward light is not desired. It works best with PAR style lamps so no light is wasted bouncing around in the interior of the fixture. The interior is black, which is good from an appearance standpoint, but would waste a lot of light if an A lamp were inserted. I've had an identical one on my rear stoop for several years and it has worked perfectly.
