Great Expansion to Add to Eldritch Horror
Eldritch Horror Under the Pyramids is an expansion for the popular board game, Eldritch Horror. This expansion adds a new location, ancient Egyptian monuments, and mysterious characters to the game, creating a unique and challenging experience for players. The components of the expansion are of high quality, with beautifully detailed and intricate artwork that truly captures the mood and atmosphere of ancient Egypt. The new Ancient One, Nephren-Ka, adds a fresh and exciting challenge to the game, with unique abilities that can completely change the outcome of the game. One of the standout features of this expansion is the new location, the City of the Sun. The City of the Sun is a sprawling metropolis with many different areas to explore, each with their own unique challenges and rewards. This location adds a new level of depth and strategy to the game, as players must carefully navigate their way through the city while also dealing with the rising threat of Nephren-Ka.Another great addition to the game are the new Ancient One sheets, which provide players with a detailed look at Nephren-Ka and its abilities. The sheets also provide players with new spells and items that they can use to battle the Ancient One, giving them a much needed edge in their fight against the forces of darkness.Overall, Eldritch Horror Under the Pyramids is an excellent expansion that adds a wealth of new content and challenges to the base game. If you're a fan of Eldritch Horror or just looking for a unique and challenging board game experience, then I would highly recommend this expansion. The high-quality components, intricate artwork, and engaging gameplay make it a must-have for any board game collection.

This expansion fed our addiction!!
We are big board game geeks who really like story-driven games that have a nice balance of luck (dice), character building (without being a "deck-building") and strategy. We don't like deck building or resource management games generally. Oh, and it's usually just the two of us, so we wanted a two-player game. We also strongly prefer cooperative games, so when we bought the base game at our local game store we quickly got hooked! We have now bought every expansion and are waiting for each new one expectantly! The pros of the base game are the stories, characters, and graphics. The cons are it is very time-consuming and complicated to play, but once you learn it you don't have to constantly refer to the enormous rule book or look up rules as often. It also takes up a lot of room; we have one side table just for the cards and one for all the tokens (in little cups) as the board and our characters and the main elder thing take up the whole playing table. The other thing we really aren't crazy about is that so much of this game is dark, but we've not found a "happier" game we like as much, with all the pros and even all the other cons, which we are willing to tolerate if it's a good game.As for this expansion, it is one of my favorites. What I like is that this sideboard provides extra opportunities to do Actions or gain items. They also indicate whether they are a city or wilderness space (no oceans, of course!) The two new elder things are two of our favorites. We play Syzygy even without the Pyramids sideboard. When we aren't playing with the sideboard I miss being able to transport easily from one side of the main board to the other using the local paths provided on this sideboard. All in all, this is one of the best Eldritch Horror expansions.

If you want to freshen up Eldritch Horror, get this.
From what I can tell this is the first review for this expansion.I am a long time fan of Eldritch Horror. The Big Box expansions (this one and Mountains of Madness) are designed to really flesh out 2 ancient ones. In the small box expansions there is a focus on adding more to the core game, but Under the Pyramids focuses on making new adventures. The new investigators are all really interesting, I played the Professor and was able to really help people by using his action to raise other people's stats. Hoping to try using the Nun and Reporter combination soon.We played against the Dark Pharaoh who felt more difficult than Cthulu and had an awesome ability that forced people to be pulled towards Egypt on triggers. This was really fun when we needed to get closer to Egypt and he helped us along. The side board didn't feel out of place like that Antarctica one does. It is easily accessible and traversable and feels good to feel like Egypt is important. The only negative we ran in to was when a rumor (The Wind Walker) spawned and forced us to run all the way to North America. Silas proved invaluable for getting around the world and the Nun was really useful.Overall the lore of this one felt different from the others and refreshing. Fighting against the Pharaoh felt very different than the four base Elder ones as far as storytelling went. If you are looking for new mechanics, they just aren't as big in this expansion, but if you want a fresh story, this is great.
