Young artists blossom with the experience of quality supplies
Art supplies are my preferred gift for children of all ages. Developing the creativity and confidence that comes from the practice of art adds lifelong value. But they don't need to work with junk supplies just because they are kids. Open their world with a glimpse of something special. This Strathmore Paint Pad is a perfect product and price point for budding watercolorists without going completely crazy. It is sturdy and finely textured and easily reveals the artistry of watercolor that a stack of your printing paper cannot. Remove a page from the tablet, show the young artist how to tape down the edges on a (washable) surface and take the time to learn with them how this paper gently absorbs color and brushstroke. You won't be sorry.

Great for the non-pro
I like to make cards and the kids love to watercolor and this is the perfect solution for both. While extremely affordable, I cut each page into four pieces which allows us to use them for the top layer of our greeting cards. Regular paper and card stock are not appropriate to use with watercolors, and so I was delighted to find something that was extremely affordable that would allow us to enjoy creating pictures without being overly concerned about the price.I do realize that professional artists need to rely on paper to have a very high percentage of cotton however, this paper suit our needs perfectly.

The perfectly thick pages for art
My son loves to paint and these books are great for that, or just scribble by with crayons or markers. Great for the price.

Well,
The quality of this paper isn't so great for handling watercolor, but thats probably why it's intended audience is children.I find it pretty crappy for painting on, however it makes for perfect printer watercolor paper. I literally use this paper to print almost all of my scapbook-ish things. It has a slight texture to it, so everything that's hot off the printer is pretty slick looking. If you're buying this for a child then don't be worried, I'm sure they'll enjoy just the same. However, as a watercolor enthusiast, I can't even stand swatching on this paper. Lol.

Hand Lettering Use
The media could not be loaded. I am starting hand lettering. I wanted to practice and keep the cost down. I had a trip to use tracing paper. This is useful as a pad, but is bumpy so I won't be using my brush pens on it. I can use dry media with it though. So not a total loss. I am an artist as well, so it will be great for practice in other areas as well.

Great paper for kids' projects
I bought this pad of paper for my grandson, along with some paint sticks. The paper is good quality, bright white and thick enough that the paint doesn't go through, or wrinkle when he is coloring. I feel bad when kids are given poor quality art supplies. How frustrating it must be for them to use waxy crayons, crummy paper, terrible brushes etc.
