Amazing if you actually know what your doing.
get the green one, it is far superior to the red one. Not only is the motor water cooled, but the ESC is as well. For this price the quality, design, and craftsmanship are hobby grade. The battery connector is one of the oldest standard plugs. If you are having trouble inserting the battery plug into the ESC plug hold the wires of the batteries plug and make sure to have the banana connectors inside the plug in the middle, then secure the wires so they don't wiggle and it will easily plug in till the battery connector snaps them together so they can't wiggle apart while sailing. This is a very fast boat, it needs to be treated as a hobby grade item or yes it will break. you need to oil the prop shaft every few runs with specific prop shaft lube from your local R/C hobby shop. THIS IS NOT A TOY PEOPLE! If this had the brand Traxxas on it, it would cost 300 dollars. The hull has a beautiful shine on the outside that makes it look like real fiberglass. The motor has so much torque that I turned on the transmitter and plugged in the boats battery to turn on the boat so I could just test the motor and steering servo for a second to make sure everything worked when I first received it, I gave it a quick half throttle and it nearly twisted the boat off its stand I had to quickly catch it with my hand. You have no clue my experience with hobby R/C, its been my passion since Ive been 12, Im now 36. When I say this is high quality, I mean its high quality, but don't even bother if you think you are getting a toy that just works, like the charger it comes with, pure crap. I use my own 200 dollar smart charger that will charge and balance the cells from 3.2v a cell to 4.2v a cell, yes it says it's a 7.4v battery, that's what they rate the nominal. at. each cell actually charges to 4.2v meaning when fully charged the total voltage of the pack is 8.4v, nominal is 3.7v a cell which it will go through until the boat hits Lipo cutoff then has a voltage wire from the esc to t he receiver that signals this to the transmitter to beep at you and it cuts the power and you have a very limited time to slowly drive the boat back to you before the ESC completely cuts the power to avoid over discharging the battery. you need to set a timer and first time you drive yours based on how you drive it see how long it lasts never letting it get too far away to make sure when the alarm and power cuts you have enough time to get back. stop the timer when the alarm goes off then look at how long it lasted and then set an actual timer for about 2-3 minutes before that. That way you can get a little more distance while driving, when your timer alarm goes off bring the boat in and start driving it closer because you know in a couple minutes the low battery alarm will go off and you will already have been driving the boat close to where your going to take it out of the water so you don't have to worry about it completely dying before retrieving it. Turn on the transmitter, set the transmitter down, then hold the boat in the air, install the battery then plug it into the ESC which turns on the boat and the transmitter and receiver will automatically pair, don't pick up the controller until you set the boat in the water so you don't loose a dang finger from that propeller. if you do not turn on the transmitter before plugging the battery into the ESC, and setting the boat in the water, you risk the boat taking off on you and turning on your transmitter will probably not bind it and your boat will be either lost, sunk, or broken. As I said, this is not a toy. I saw a negative review because they said you can't even plug the battery into the boat and let it sit for a couple hours without the battery dying. WHEN YOU PLUG IN THE BOAT YOU TURN ON ALL THE BOATS ELECTRONICS, EVEN WHEN NOT IN USE EVERYTHING IS ON AND USING POWER FROM THE BATTERY! OF COURSE ITS NOT GOING TO STAY CHARGED! DON'T GIVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW ON SOMETHING YOU KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT. AND IF YOUR BOAT ISNT WORKING AFTER A COUPLE USES IT IS MOST LIKELY THE WORTHLESS CHARGER THIS COMES WITH. YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO USE YOUR OWN CHARGER THAT IS CORRECT FOR THE TYPE OF BATTERY. My charger charges every kind of R/C battery and will even check and tell you the chemistry of the battery, this battery it comes with is actually a LiPo which is a form of a Li-ion battery. On the battery they used the general term Li-ion, don't know why, it uses two 18650 similar form to a AA battery only they are bigger and they make them in Li-ion, LiMn, LiFe, LiPo, its just a different type of cell form than your typical LiPo R/C battery cell. If it were Li-ion this would be a 7.2v battery, not 7.4v. I can't remember the name of the type of plug it uses or I would list it so you could get better batteries with higher discharge rates that fit in the battery compartment, when your search for batteries for this model it shows you a whole ton of them with the wrong connector. UPDATE: Still an amazing boat, just wanted to update you with the name of the battery connector, it is a Tamiya connector on the green boat, don't know about red. They are two completely different boats. Word of advice, never use the stupid light up wing. It is the only model RC boat that actually looks like a real speedboat in this price range, don't ruin it with a fake looking wing. Speedboats don't have wings. The battery it comes with is Li-ion as well too, you can use a LiPo in it though, but yes it uses not micro Tamiya connector but standard Tamiya connector. They come in many colors so if you order one that's not red, it will still fit.

Very highly recommended
For the price, this is the best rc boat with the most features and speed. Brushless, self righting, 3s, RTR, double sealed hatch, foam hatch gasket, it's got it all. The remote is not terrible and the runtime isn't super long but for the price I'm exremely happy. Runtime is about 20 minutes but that doesn't leave you unsatisfied, I'd suggest buying a few extra batteries and swapping esc/battery connectors to whatever your favorite is. The remote is, well, an RTR (ready to run) remote so they didn't really splurge on that. It's got all the necessary trim and such that you'd want so that's good, the throttle just feels like it has maybe 4 or 5 zones of throttle gradation. Very easy to upgrade though! Throw in a Hobbywing Seaking, Spektrum Sr215, and a savox micro servo and you've got an outrageously capable little boat! I am beyond delighted with this purchase.

Fast boat, not durable and poor part quality
The major issue with this boat is durability. I used it for two days, 8 minutes each time, and by the second day - the prop simply did not function. I looked at the entire and ensured everything was both screwed right and waterproof.Even to mini tools that came with the boat did not function correctly, I had a very difficult time using the tools to do anything related to checking the mechanical items. Very, very disappointed.Update #2. After spending about an hour checking the boat again, I put in back in the water. Before doing so, I tightened EVERYTHING. True to form, the boat worked for about 30 seconds, then the metal draft shaft and prop came off and sunk to the bottom of the lake. If I save one person from this product, at least my time would not be completely wasted. If I could give this negative stars, I would.

Good but overpriced
Positive - goes really fast. Haven't measured it, but it seems to really take off. Also easy to right itself if it gets turned upside down. Decent range of the remote. Warns when the batter is low so you can return it to you.Negative - short battery life. It says 8 minutes. Maybe. Seems shorter. Only comes with 1 battery. Probably good thing because it gets water in the hull each use. So far doesn't seem to be a problem, but needs to dry out between uses. Adding some silicone lube to the gasket seems to help keep the inside mostly dry. The reverse is nearly useless; it doesn't really backup just stirs up a bunch of water around the boat. Can't charge the battery while it is in the boat and the connector is somewhat difficult to disconnect. Also, there is no switch on the boat so if the battery is installed it will drain it in a few hours even if not in use. The instructions have some of the worst translation from Chinese that you will find. The tools that come with it are horrible quality and don't seem to have any use on this product.Overall - a lot of fun, just don't expect to use it all day and don't expect it to last very long. There are probably cheaper options that are just as useful.

Read this review if your worried!
Couldn't be happier with my purchase.First off, the other reviews either come from inexperienced rc operators or they just got bad luck. This boat is very well constructed, ran it for 30 minutes without a drop of water inside or anything broken. I checked all screws before running it and also did a quick wet run in the bathtub. I suggest you do the same with any watercraft before tossing it in a lake. Rc boats aren't for beginners in my opinion, it helps if you have basic knowledge of how things work.Run time was fantastic, as with any setup, extra batteries are always a good investment.UdiRC, im impressed, will definitely recommend.Everyone at the park was in awe of the little boat. Are there better boats available, yes if course. But at the Hundred price point, this is smashing the rest. Great product, don't hesitate to buy.
