Not the value for the money they are advertising. Not deep cells. Less than 3 inches.
Root trainer starters are supposed to be a deep cell that helps the plant develop deep roots. I did read the description and was led to believe these were deep pockets and a great value for the money. These trays are barely three inches. Not deep at all. Wasted time and money. Will not purchase again.

Holes in bottom of the tray!
Works good. But don't really understand why there's draining holes in the bottom of the tray.I had to buy another tray to put the whole box in, so the water didn't leak.

Lightweight yet sturdy
I'm impressed with these. These are light yet perfectly durable for the purpose. The transparent lid is great for seedlinds on a windowsill until they're big enough to be fully exposed. Then the lid is ideal as a tray underneath to avoid spillage if used indoors. My herbs are coming up perfectly. It also doesn't take up too much room on the windowsill.I'd definitely buy again.EDIT: Just transplanted my herbs to bigger pots and it was so quick & easy - minimal root disturbance. The hinged split design of the moulds means you can just lift a section out and remove the entire root system & plant without trying to pull it out. The roots also grew nice & deep.

Extremely useful for repotting/transplanting
Each 'pod' can hold a good amount of soil, so your plant has plenty of space to root downwards and takes the process of re-potting really well. The ability to take out rows of them at a time, easily see when roots are reaching the bottom and being air-pruned, and to just prise apart when ready is amazing and something I hadn't seen before.Attaching pic of one of my 2 root trainers and to the left some successfully repotted plants. Only drawback i'd say is the plastic lid hasn't got any holes in for air circulation and can get ridiculously hot, i got leaf burn on one of my plants that was touching the sides. Maybe make some holes yourself? Otherwise amazing product and I ended up buying another one.

great idea
these are a terrific idea and just in the middle of using them it looks like they will work, but, just unpacking them (removing sticky tape) they cracked and split ...made of a very fragile material which is like the inside of a biscuit packet.Doubt I will get more than a season, maybe 2 seasons, if I am gentle, out of them
