The description suggests this is purely battery operated, is this accurate or can this be mains charged?

Hi. You charge the epilator using the mains cable but then use it without the cable (i.e. cordless use) You cannot use it while it is charging (i.e. plugged into the mains) and I've used it several times without needing to recharge, so it has a decent usage time per charge. Hope that helps/

Can I buy spare heads for this? Mainly interested in the pedicure foot file head.

I'm not sure but would have thought so. I can say that the pedi tool works very well, as does the epilator

It has the input as 100~240 which I believe means it dual voltage. Hope this helps
