My cats are healthy and happy 😊
I did so much research for my new kittens who had just gotten spade and nuetterd at the center so I wanted them to get the best that they can eat to recover and stay healthy and happy. I'm relieved that this food is 92% just beef which is wonderful because cats need meat since they're carnivores. The other 8% is chickpeas, mussels minerals like taurine. The ingedient list is full of beef and only beef which includes the liver, kidneys, tripe, and bone( safely it's been grinded up so they will not choke) so its not like we won't know protein they used per batch. Nope i'll always be certain its beef. It also includes green lip mussels which is fantastic for cats because it provides omega 3s and helps with their joints. Another plus in my book is that all this comes from new Zealand so I'm in 100% trust that the products from ziwi are safe and fresh for my lovely cats. Definitely value for your money you get 6.5 oz which is another half ounce most competitors take away. So the size works even better because if you have 2 cats it's easier to distribute the food in half with just 1 can rather than opening multiple small cans. Even if you just got 1(although they should have a buddy if possible) you just need to open 1 can per day for them since typically it 6oz of food per day per a avg size cat along with their activity lvls. Which brings me to how much more energy my cats have with this meal compared to others. Wow my cats are always ready to play and have an abundance of energy to go on walks and run around. Also i always here other say how much their cats sheds and as long as i have them in this range of diet they dont shed like crazy just normal levels so great nutrition for them means less shedding. I can't thank ziwi enough for having this line 👌🏻 10/10. So if you have the funds please give your cat the best that they can receive and your reward will be a happy feline that is happy to be your companion 😊

Thanks Ziwi Pets!
FINALLY - a wet cat food with NO: Carrageenan, Sodium Selenite, Menadione (synthetic vitamin K), Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate (tspp), copper sulfate, Agar Agar, Guar Gum, Xanthan Gum, Locust Bean Gum, Sunflower Seed Oil, Canola Oil, Olive Oil, Tapioca Starch, Corn, Rice, Soy, Potatoes, Meals, Animal By-Products, etc., etc. These are ALL pet food ingredients/chemicals linked to cancer, organ/CNS damage, food allergies/intolerances and GI disturbances. The ingredients and chemicals that some pet food manufacturers put in our pets’ food is both atrocious and shameful.Anyway, I have been feeding the wet rabbit and lamb formula to my cats (new formula - did not like some ingredients in the old formula) for a little over a month now. At first introduction, neither cat was remotely interested. I was disappointed as I wanted them to immediately dig in. Determined to make it a part of their diet, I started mixing a tiny bit (teaspoon) in their current food, increasing gradually over the weeks. Both now are eating a full can at breakfast and seem to really enjoy. I may replace some of their other meals with this as well, but will wait a little longer to decide. One thing I will note is that my one cat seems to have developed very hard/dry stools since increasing the intake of this food. I am not positive yet, but I do suspect it’s related to something in the food. I suspect it may be from the bone or chickpeas? I am not too concerned yet, as he was going the other way (loose stools/diarrhea) from eating Weruva.Speaking of the chickpeas…I know that others have mentioned a dislike for the chickpeas (I get it). But there has to be SOME type of “binder” for the food. Alternatives binders are Carrageenan, Agar Agar, Starches, Grains, Gums – all of which are linked to cancer, allergies and GI upset. So…chickpeas please and thank you!Anyway, I am very happy with this food and am so glad it is available. Is it expensive? Totally. But I am more than willing to pay a higher price for quality ingredients (not sourced from China) for my cats. This is, by far, the best food that I have found with regard to the ingredient list. If there is something better or “as good” out there I would love to know (as I do believe in a rotational diet simply b/c I don’t trust ANY pet food manufacturer). If you are reading Ziwi, thank you for providing a quality product and for also listening to customer feedback! I can see from some other reviews that some customers are unhappy with your recent formula change, but in looking at your prior ingredients you made a change for the better! Usually when cat food formulas change, they seem to change for the worse (I’m looking at you Tiki Cat). Also, if you are listening, I do wish you would offer an all poultry or all rabbit option. Or even poultry and rabbit combo. I don’t feed my cats fish and would like another option, with no red meat. Finally, a lot of the cans in my order had large dents (5/12) and I won't feed my cats food from dented cans...Based on the way my package came I feel like they were damaged on manufacturer's end vs. Amazon or during shipment. Amazon was kind enough to help me out with this.

7 mm bones in food injured my cat
I have fed my cat Ziwi Peak for years; recently 7 mm bones in the food injured my cat. After eating, my cat vomited up his food which surprised me because this had never happened before. As I was cleaning up the vomit, I noticed small pieces of bone in the food. I pulled out 6 small bones, two of which were 7 mm long and 4 of which were 2-5 mm long.My cat stopped eating and drinking after that so I took him to a Pet Emergency Clinic . The vets at the clinic told me that the bones were too large to be in cat food, and that the bones had caused injury to my cat's digestive system. The vets were concerned that a bacterial infection could occur due to the injured tissue, and my cat started antibiotics. It has been 4 days now, and my cat is still barely eating or drinking. I knew that Ziwi Peak includes ground bone in the food, but these pieces are too large. I am wondering if there have been changes made in the production of the food since Ziwi Peak was sold to a China based private equity firm in late 2021.
