Pretty good book!
I used this book for my first thermodynamics class in my chemical engineering major and the book is very understandable and clearly written. The problems are great and the solutions can be found online. The only thing I feel could change is more examples for certain problems. There is not much diversity in example problems.

As far as textbooks go, it's pretty good value for money.
Feels weird to write a review since I was forced to buy this for my ChemE thermodynamics class, but it helped me get an A in a class a lot of people struggled with so I'm not complaining. This was probably my most-used book while getting my degree. By the time I graduated the edge of the book looked like it was covered in a multicolored astroturf of post-it tabs, each one with a tiny little abbreviation for some equation or principle that I wanted to remember. Haven't opened it since, but I like having it tucked away on my bookshelf just in case.

Book is not the best for an introductory class
Even though this book is required in many universities around the world, it is not the best textbook for an undergraduate level class, because it doesn't explain concepts in as much depth as other engineering textbooks I have used and the chapter examples are lacking. I did like the tables in the back of the book, but overall most of my peers disliked having to use this book. The examples that are worked out in this book's chapters are not as involved as the questions at the end of the chapter. Therefore, if you are trying to solve certain end-of-chapter problems, the worked out chapter examples are not always helpful. If you are buying this book on your own to teach yourself thermodynamics or if you have a choice of textbooks, I would suggest you look for a better textbook with more in-depth discussion first. If you have already taken thermodynamics before or you are a grad student, then this book is probably a good choice for you, but I would not recommend it for someone who is learning the subject for the first time.

Great ChE Thermo book!
I used this book for my ChE Thermo 1 and 2. It has many great examples. The problems aren't too bad. The information in the book was presented very well. I kept this around and I'm very glad I did! It helped when studying for the FE and also for my upper level classes. It's a great thermo book and I highly recommend it!

Not great
This book is really hit or miss. some of the chapters are really solid and good with their explanations but others are just complete crap and almost indecipherable with the huge amount of theoretical proofs thrown in. It's not the best book out there for learning thermo. UC boulder's learncheme page has better resources.

Great buy
The book is in great condition. Everything is readable and no torn pages or even folded. The buy was worth it when the quality of the book is compared to its price.
