Best Murder Mystery Games
I have now ordered and played three games from this company. This is the first one I ordered and played over a year ago and I just pulled it back out to play again with a different set of friends. All three of the games we played from this company were amazingly well thought out and easy to play. The characters and some of the lines to read are punny and the games are all fun and challenging. Some of our guests have just enjoyed the night of dinner and fun with friends and some take it pretty seriously trying to figure out who the murderer is. The beauty of these games is that you can have both types of guests and still have a successful night.I love to throw a themed party and can tend to get over the top extra with decor and details. What I loved about this particular game is how simple it was to create the right atmosphere without having to spend a ton of money or time preparing. Both times I played this game, I was able to plan it for an hour after I return home from work and still have everything ready to go. Of course any extras at all are optional, but a simple red and white checkered tablecloth is really all I purchased for this. We simply ordered pizzas and used paper plates and plastic cups and it all felt on theme for this game. The only “extra” I did was typing up the list of questions from each round on paper ahead of time, printing it and attaching it to black cardstock. These sheets were then set in the center of the table. They look like restaurant menus and we find it helpful to just have one sheet of questions that gets passed around as we each take a turn questioning someone. Then we cross that person off the list and it makes it easier to keep track of who has and has not been questioned in each round. In this digital age, our invites are sent via text message or word of mouth so we do not use the invite cards, but we did use the opposite side of them as place cards as intended. This game in particular is the most family friendly of the three we have played. Much like some of the jokes in children’s movies, adults may find some “adult humor” in some of the characters and lines, but with children in the crowd, nothing inappropriate is actually said in this game. It all depends on your crowd. While I technically have not tried playing any murder mystery games from other companies, I chose to order from this company because of the stellar reviews and the fact that the games are flexible if you have last minute cancellations, changes or additions. We did have to make last minute adjustments to one of the parties we hosted and it was completely easy and stress-free to do so. Because of this I won’t even consider ordering from another company.I can also say that for anyone wondering if the games are easy or difficult or even impossible to figure out, they are the perfect amount of really having to focus and think, but not at all impossible if you try. We have played four times and I was able to pinpoint every time except the last and the only reason for that is because I was the murderer this time around. The most difficult part of being the murderer after three successful solves was trying to come up with a reason to accuse one of the other characters to take suspicion off me and place it on someone else.Over the four game nights we have hosted with games from this company, we have had a total of 26 different people that have played, some more than once. Every single one of them has loved playing the game and wants to play again. So, if I have a complaint about this company it’s that their games are so fun that my guest list keeps on growing each time we play and i simply can’t host everyone at once. 😂

Great fun for a group of teens!
My 15-year-old daughter and six of her friends enjoyed playing the pizzeria murder mystery dinner party game recently. They dressed and acted in character as they enjoyed a pizza dinner, listened to the evidence (from an iPad - the music and guy’s accent enhanced the game’s atmosphere), and questioned each other. We found the mingling option the most fun, as the kids perfected their acting with each repetition of their story. Only one guessed the murderer, because the murderer was quite skilled at diverting attention and accusing convincingly. We look forward to reusing the kit in a few years, perhaps at my son’s 15th birthday party. We really appreciated the PG nature of the characters and their stories, as we’ve rejected many other murder mystery game options due to glorified immorality.

Fun but requires lots of reading
I bought this for my daughter's 14th birthday. She really enjoys drama and theater (and murder/mafia games) so acting out a murder mystery seemed like a fun activity to have at her party. The girls had fun picking costumes to match their character, and the game was really flexible to be able to play with a smaller group or a larger group. However, there was a LOT of reading and scripts. I thought I had read through things well to lead the mystery, but somehow I forgot about listening to the online clues until the last act (there is also an option to read the clues yourself, which is a good idea since the audio voice had a very thick Italian accent that most of the teenagers had a hard time understanding). Most important takeaway: if you're the host, read through one of the character's options as if it's the real deal; otherwise things can get very confusing very quickly. Also, there is a LOT of script reading. There isn't much room for improv. I felt bad for one girl who apparently has a reading disability--she's not in drama club with the others. Everyone was a good sport and encouraged her, and I ended up reading most of her script for her.I'd probably buy this again, but the game flopped with this group. Maybe we'll try it again in the future. Not sure.

This was great! No regrets!
This was a great purchase! I wasn't sure how it would work, but everything went great. I bought it for a 14-year old bday party. The group consisted of 4 teens and 8 adults (all ages). Everyone came in character and my 80-year old mother played the victim. The perfect part for her participation level. We had a great time. The kit has everything you need. We did download the audio from the website and played on our mobile phone, as we don't have a CD player. I highly recommend this. It was good, clean fun and super simple. Definitely something different for a birthday party. This would be great for team building too.

Fun and easy to use
I was looking for my first murder mystery game and I was so pleased with this game. It was easily customizable, you can use it over and over and the directions were so easy to follow. Everyone had a great time! I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to host their own party!

Great family night with friends
Our family played this game with friends and every last one of us had a great time. There were 8 of us, with the youngest being 11 and it was appropriate for all at the table. There was no sacrifice to effectiveness only using some of the characters and everyone had fun throwing together costumes with what we had around. Will definitely be doing this again. Just wish there was another from the same company that was also appropriate for kids.
