Q: I notice that alcohol is the second ingredient. Does anyone find it drying?

Add an organic liquid coconut oil to gel to help with drying out and make the hair do what you want.

Q: Does this have heat protection?

Not that i know of. It provides uv protection from the sun but i use a chi speay for heat protection from my curling iron. It is a very good product for added body.

Q: Purchased and I can't seem to get the pump to work on either one (bought 2) How do you get the top to pop up?
