Makita quality
Genuine Makita product, arrived earlier than expected packed well. Quality you expect from Makita. I will also be buying the 1 M rail track later.Update on my review 17 January 2024:-Since my purchase of the 1.5 M long rail track I have bought the 1 M rail track. I also bought the Fonson rail square to enable me to cut down sheets accurately without the use of a square. On receipt of the Fonson rail square I fixed it on the 1 M long rail track then checked it for 90 degree accuracy with a square which I know is absolutely 90 degrees. To my horror the rail square was out of square not by a lot but enough to give inaccurate cuts. My first thought was that the Fonson rail square was at fault as I went for a cheaper rail square rather than spending three times the price on a Festool or TSO rail square. I then checked the Fonson rail square separately to se if I could find any inaccuracies in manufacture but could not find anything at all in fact the square is superbly manufactured. So my next step was to fit the Fonson square onto my 1.5 M Makita rail track and to my relief it was bang on 90 degrees, hmmm 🤔 the plot thickens. I then checked the edge of the rail track (I.e. opposite the cutting edge) with an accurate flat spirit level and feeler gauges, this is the reference edge the Fonson square uses for attaching to the rail track and the mystery was solved.I found when I put the spirit level up against the edge of the rail track there was a 0.015mm gap at the centre hence this small variation was throwing the rail square off 90 degrees.I checked the 1.5 M rail track in the same manner and there was no gap whatsoever. I couldn’t understand why I was having problems with the 1 M rail track when using the rail square as I’ve had no problems when just using the rail for straight cuts, so I checked the inner part of the rail track for flatness (where the saw travels on) and It was flat hence that’s why I don’t have any problems when making straight cuts.I must emphasise this is not a complaint about the rail track as I could have caused the problem when transporting in my car, I am adding this information to help others that may come across the same problems, hope it’s useful.

What you'd expect from Makita
Works well. Grips in good on most materials.

Good addition to any workshop
The build quality is great, very sturdy and straight. The non-slip strips on the base are fantastic, haven't felt the need to buy rail clamps, but your use-case may vary. Drops one star because whilst trimming the splinter guard, the rubber shards go absolutely everywhere even with dust collection on the saw.

Legendary quality but unfortunately arrived bent out of shape
The product is excellent but arrived damaged, thanks to DPD of course. It’s hard to believe something this strong and durable was damaged in transit. Amazon support was kind enough to resolve issue.

Official Makita Rail Guide
Well packaged and as most Plunge Saws will fit the Makita patterned guide rail which itself is based upon the Festool original track it will be great for my Mac Allister Plunge Saw to rip longer sheets without having to join the smaller tracks that are supplied with the Mac Allister. As a lot of Plunge Saw companies don't seem to supply extra guide rails, buying the Makita Rail is the best way of upgrading your Plunge Saw.
