One of the few ways to get audio from a turntable into Apple HomePods without deploying a Mac
Getting music from a turntable to play back through Apple HomePods is quite a challenge if you don’t want to involve a Mac of some kind. How many Airplay 2 TRANSMITTERS (not receivers) can you find? Exactly. If you exclude Apple products, you might have an easier time with finding Hen’s teeth. And the WiiM which used to do this no longer does, to my intense frustration. 🤦♂️ Enter the IRig … Connections are (in my case, at least), Turntable > Phono pre amp > Irig > iPod 7th Gen running the AirChord 2 app (this app, or something similar, is essential) > Apple TV via Airplay 2 > Homepod stereo pair and … boom. A. It works. 🥳 B. It works reliably, so I don’t have to spend half an hour faffing with reboots and reconnections every time I want to play a record 🥳🥳 C. It sounds pretty good too. 🥳🥳🥳 Significantly better than I expected, TBH. It’s clearly not a state-of-the art solution by any measure. When high-end analogue phono pre amps can cost £10k upwards, what can you realistically expect for a bit less than £100? But it’s a solution that sounds surprisingly decent IMHO. Highly recommended.😁 👍🏻

Excellent Easy To Use Streaming Device That Solved My Problems With Audio Distortion
My picture isn't very glamourous and you have to look hard ot see the Irig Stream on the right of the desk. I used this product along with Streamyard software on a Windows 11 laptop. I was able to find the audio in Streamyard easily after pressing play the stream was picked up fine. I picked this model as it has a control and indicator lights for the output which came in handy. I've made my first live stream to You Tube set to private but now public as I'm happpy with the result. This gadget is a little pricy but worth it. Oh yes, I ordered this on recomendation from the global DJ network having run into problems recording my PA system live set with audio distortion. This has now given me a new way to create live sets. I'm pleased with the product. I just plugged it in to my laptop using the supplied USB C cable and it powered up.

Lacks Help Desk support, updates are very difficult when its locked down via the company.
Used this a couple of times initially and it is a good product until it needs a update. I have contacted their support twice and after a week still reply or any help. I have two phones, one older iPhone and a new Android phone and neither can connect to it :(The issue is there is no serial number on the product itself, this is held by the help desk or documentation (which was lost during a move of house). At this present time its an unusable item.

A great device for live streaming and very simple to use
It’s a very good interface device for streaming through your mobile phone , my only criticisms are the din jack would be more ideally replaced with either a stereo normal jack or twin rca output jacks and despite having a lead in the box for Android users I found before switching to iPhone that it was incompatible. Also it’s supporting iRig App crashes on Android but by opening the iRig app on my iPhone whilst connected to the iRig Stream the device works with absolutely no problems and the sound is very impressive, so my advice if you’re having problems using it on your Android phone, switch to iPhone .

Compact but Compromised
The IK Multimedia iRig Stream is a pocket-sized audio interface that’s great for content creators looking for portability. Its small size makes it easy to carry around, fitting into nearly any pocket or bag with no hassle. However, the build quality is disappointing. The plastic casing feels very cheap, and the switches in particular seem fragile—like they could break with regular use or even during travel.Another downside is the Mini DIN output used to connect it to devices. This unusual choice makes users dependent on IK Multimedia’s specific cables, which is both inconvenient and unnecessary. A simple USB-to-USB connection would have been more user-friendly and versatile for everyday setups.Overall, while the iRig Stream is compact and functional, the weak construction and cable dependency may frustrate long-term users.

Great sound
As always any irig products are easy to use. They are Apple friendly not android friendly . On one occasion while streaming through an androids latest device it failed in the middle and I had to stop the programme half way through. I never had any issues with apple products. Sound quality is superb. The volume control knob has little or no use if you’re using a mixing desk. Overall this is a star unit for recording or streaming.
