This is a good series but I don't understand how it has been labelled by booktok as a romantasy.It is really well written, the world building is incredible and the politics, the scheming and plot twists are fantastic, but it is NOT a romantasy.There is a little bit of a love story but I have not felt romance... I did not feel the love between the characters was described well enough to feel for them.If you like reading about fantasy, fae world, spying and war, then this book is right up your street, but if you've heard of it because of the romance bit, you might feel disappointed as there's no much of it and what is there is not enough to fall in love.

This trilogy was a fascinating read and I was immediately invested in the story. I could not put these books down! I definitely enjoyed the wicked king the most out of three, but I enjoyed all of theme immensely. I always look forward to the ending of these books, as Holly Black never to failed to surprise me with these plot twists and cliffhangers!

first off they are beautiful. I have not read them yet but i looked at the map and any books with a map are the best books you will ever read in my eyes! i cannot wait to read them

Loves it from the first sentence to the last. Read all three books in less than a week. Best series I have read in ages.

This has to be one of my favourite series. I like the character growth, the world building and of course ship the main romance. This has been on my tbr for so long and I regret not reading it sooner.There are some frustrating parts, such as when you read and get to know Jude as being very clever and then at the same time not realising something so obvious such as a loophole in a ruling but I guess it does emphasise her humanity and how she lets her emotions get the better of her.The romance is from enemies to lovers and I do think that Holly Black fully explains the reasons behind Cardan’s behaviour and you also get to see him develop and become better in a very realistic way.If you’re a fantasy fan then you need NEED to give this a read!

Loved it couldn't put them down. Great characters Such great stories so sad they are over. Highly recommend them. Will looking for more by Holly.
