Works great, very hot and affordable
The media could not be loaded. Bought to use for stretching and post heating vinyl wrap and PPF. IR thermometer records the inside of the lamp at about 900°F. Works fantastic and very light weight.

instant heat
i use it for vehicle wraps works great on evenly heating the film and stretching. the bulb inside looks to be fragile so be careful to not be banging it around or dropping it

First use and will not turn off
Purchased this to wrap my car. I started wrapping this week and the first day of using it, I went to switch it off and it would not turn off. So instead of a quick grab and heat I have to plug and unplug it to use it. Needless to say back to the old heat gun. I’ll upload pics of it on with the switch off. Contacted the company, they emailed me once to make me believe they were going to help and ghosted me when I told them what was happening. I gave the order number, purchase location, etc and haven’t heard anything since. Pretty upset I wasted money in a time where people can’t afford to waste. I’m writing this because if I can help steer away someone from having this same issue then this review was worth it. If Solary would have just exchanged this unit my review would have been much different. I read reviews when I buy and weed out the ones that complain just to complain, but I’ve included pictures of my lamp staying on with the switch in the off position. IDK about you but when I turn a switch off, I expect the item to turn off. Update as of 10/11/23 I contacted Solary by phone and was told I was speaking to the distributor and not Solary themselves. Supposedly Solary was going to contact me regarding my unit not turning off. The number I called was directly off the paperwork I received with the product. Still no return phone call or email to resolve this problem. $100+ is a lot of money to just piss away on a product that isn’t safe for me to use. All I wanted was to resolve this issue and I wouldn’t have to write such a review. DO NOT BUY

Works fantastic after months and months
I use this for vinyl wrapping, its fantastic. A must have in every shop. Now the company/seller needs to make a roller stand for this

First one sparked and shorted out
First one lasted all of 6 mins before it sparked, shorted out and tripped the breaker. Everyone manufactures a dud now and then so returned and ordered a second. Will update review when I have some extended us with the lamp.

SUPER FAST HEAT!!!
This is amazing I used it for vinyl and it gets so hot so fast, its on demand heat and works amazingly. the shell doesn't get hot and its not heavy, but whatever you point it at is getting hot and its getting hot fast! the handle on it is really nice and there is no setup just plug and heat!

Failed quickly
This lamp failed in less than a year of use. We didn't even use the product for a fraction of its hourly lifetime estimate. Maybe less than 30min a month of "On" time.

Using as a IR waxing iron.
Viewed a YTube video on IR waxing "irons" used in ski shops. Benefits are supposedly deeper wax penetration into the amorphous structure of bases with less heat and wax. Only problems are the size and cost of these shop specific IR waxing stations. This specific IR heating unit is promoted at a ski wax company as a home use model. Compact and reasonable price.Initial impression. Lightly scraped off the storage wax (Swix CH10) and melted on a layer of CH6 (cold temp wax) to blend in with remaining CH10. The IR iron works slick like in the YTube video at the MountainFlow channel (the wax company promoting the iron). Using an indirect thermometer to monitor the base temp. Results. Wax was melting at lower temperature than the traditional digital Swix waxing iron would be set at. Topskin of the snowboard based on memory felt cooler than using a traditional iron. Not even really warm to the touch. Was concerned that deep penetrating heat would heat up the denser wood core more than traditional iron.Time, oxygen, UV, and heat cause ski/snowboard bases to deteriorate. Deterioration form a "layer" that reduces the ability for wax to penetrate into the base. It's the wax within the amorphous structure that is important. Heat and UV exposure are two we can control. Assuming that the lower heat necessary for deep penetrating waxing will extend the life of the bases requiring less stone grinding or serious base peeling to expose fresh base."iron" is simple and safe to operate. See MountainFlow YTube video. Cost effective in terms of less wax wasted compared to traditional hot waxing if this unit lasts the 6000 hrs rated for. Minimal scraping and brushing required to finish off the wax job. Minimal wax wasted. 3.5 real stars due to cost. If the unit lasts for the hoped for lifespan it earns an extra star.
