Great kayak glad I did it
I tell people it's like a bicycle, when it's moving it's very stable, when you are not moving it's not tipy but I'm a lot more careful when not moving. I'm 210 & 5'9" do I love it? Yes absolutely, is it a great value? Yes absolutely. Would I recommend to a friend? That depends. If you are 100 lbs wet yes. Or if your skill is moderate and you prefer performance over recreational style yes. Which brings me to all the reasons I love this. I love that it's about indestructible, super fast, reasonably comfortable. Seat is great. foot room isn't perfect but it works if my feet are 45 degrees. Been in rivers lakes hit some wind and waves. Not much is gonna be faster. 14'9" doesn't turn in rivers quickly. Super fast. No one in Tupperware will keep up. It's an incredible value if you want to be fast. Takes waves great roomy cockpit except my toes. For me this is about perfect compromise of everything I wanted. Not gonna be something I loan to a lot of people. It's heavy 70+lbs as heavy as my tandems but also indestructible because of the weight.rudder is odd in how it works but it works fine. I love this boat. If you want a touring boat or something fast and plastic this is by far the best option I could find.About the china manufacturing, yes they sell at $300 if you buy 10. And they won't deliver to residential address, even if I did get 10. I tried using my LLC register to home address still couldn't, probably for the best as I can't imagine trying to sell 9 of these to my friends as it's not a kayak for everyone imo.I'm down to 190lbs(was 210) doesn't effect handling but in larger lakes I must wear spray skirt or the occasional wave catches me.

Damned unstable
Damned unstable. I’ve kayaked wilderness systems and perceptions boats at 16’ long. This thing is flat out unstable, even for a touring boat. At 5’10” 180 lbs this boat is too small and handles very poorly!

Bad primary stability. Low load capacity. Poorly designed.
There's really nothing good to say about this kayak. I have since replaced it with better kayaks. I am 170 pounds and when I get into this thing I almost sink it. It's very unstable so you are always trying to keep your balance. The rope that deploys the rudder is just attached at the rudder.. so if you drop it into the water you will never get it back. The seat is uncomfortable and there is really no room for your feet where the foot rests are. It is a narrow, unstable kayak that is more suited for someone around 100 pounds. My daughter got into it who is 5'1" and 110 pounds and it seemed ok. but she did not know kayaks at that time. I would feel bad selling it used to someone - so I'll keep it for the kids.

Not built for tall people
I am 6'1" tall and it is foe that reason I cannot operate the rudder or fit comfortably inside the kayak

Do your research
You need to know what you're looking for before purchasing this kayak.I purchased mine to be an all around lake kayak and couldn't be more pleased.I've added padeyes for a downwind sail and sailing it is a blast. It's a hard chine greenland style with just the right amount of rocker.Edging it in conjunction with the rudder makes turns smooth and graceful. Catching waves to surf is easy with the quick acceleration. To be comfortable in this kayak requires a lot of seat time. The balance comes with use.I surf wakes from wake boats in mine. It's plenty stable. I take my surfing at corpus and padre island.Excellent boat.Just do your research first.

Unusable boat
The kayak received did not have a serial number nor a hull ID, and the necessary paperwork to get a state registration. When they emailed a PDF it contained a serial number was assigned to another persons boat. The state would not register the boat. The boat is totally unusable.Additionally, the companies customer service (through the Amazon portal) was terrible. When we reached out to them directly, it did not get any better.Other problems included, no assembly manual and the kayak came with rudder guidelines that were supposed to be assembled that weren’t and no way to get instructions to be able to assemble them.Additional Updates - 5-20. Company agreed to the return and admitted in writing that we could not legally register the boat in the State of Ohio. However, they want $400 for me to return it.

if you can find it for less than 1000 usd...sure.
this is a durable budget kayak. It has decent bow and stern sealed storage for stuff and two fishing rod holders. issues....it is narrow for its length and is super sensitive and twitchy to shifts in your body weight if you arent used to kayaking. I'm almost six feet four and about 212 pounds so i have to put the rudder foot pedals in the cockpit as far toward the bow as they will go and i cannot wear regular shoes, i wear a neoprene booty so my feet will fit...and so it fits like a glove at this point. not unpleasant - but any shorter and it wouldn't work for me. no issues with sinking at my weight on light lake chop. me and lots of gear and i would be riding a bit low....maybe add some foam sponsons in spots for better buoyancy? once you do get your balance though it paddles like a dream and is surprisingly swift. the stock rudder gave no issues when turning and the two-piece paddle functioned well.but......i bought this hull to make it into a sailing kayak. so i added area to the stock rudder and installed a sail kit and it has worked well in this role. pretty good upwind and excellent downwind.
