Good, simple GUI, just a shame Channel 4 have not linked up their app too.Works well but be aware you can not record to a USB to port video around. This feature is only available on earlier models.

My wife and have always loved the Humax Freesat and we both had one for each of our TV in the same house mine broke down so I had to go with the “Freesat box PVR it was crap and kept crashing. When I saw this at the good price I jumped at it. Only had it a few weeks, but it’s easy to use and it works. So that’s it.

Next day delivery by Chigwell at no extra cost. Arrived as expected. Condition is as new, very clean with everything you need supplied. Very easy setup and up and running in 10 minutes including installation. You can link your tv remote but I had issues with this so unlinked them. All you need tv remote for is turning tv on/off. Only critism is the remote batteries didn't appear to be new and were flat but I've got lots of rechargeables so not a major issue.Edit 8/4/25Been using this for several months now and generally very few issues. Tends to lock up occasionally meaning I have to remove power for 30 seconds and restart. This doesn't affect recordings etc and is an inconvenience at best.

Bought this as a replacemnt for my elderly neighbour - the reassurance is in the familairty to her. (old one had dud HDD). New one works fine. Plug n play - works as described.

The unit arrived by Royal Mail, well packaged and one day early.The package contained the HUMAX HDR 1100S 1TB recorder and power supply, a YouView Remote control, a HDMI lead and a Let’s Get Started User Guide.The recorder, purchased as Renewed, looked brand new, in excellent condition with no visible marks on the cover and all the warranty seals in place. The YouView remote was not the original HUMAX remote but as I was replacing an old HUMAX 1000S the original HUMAX remote worked fine with the new recorder. The reason for replacing the 1000S was the unit was old and becoming unreliable.The connections to the unit were easy and the set up very straightforward, just follow the on-screen instructions. Once your Post Code is entered the unit searches for all appropriate TV and radio channels available. The connection to the Internet was also straightforward for both Ethernet connection and Wi-Fi. The recording function worked well and was also easy to set up via the on-screen TV Guide.I am very pleased with the unit; the HD picture quality is excellent via the live feed and via a recorded programme.There are a couple of minor niggles. The Standby/ On LED, which is at the centre of the unit but underneath and is very hard to see. Also the top cover, after a day’s operation, becomes quite warm to the touch. I hope this does not affect the long term reliability of the unit.Overall the recorder is a great buy and I would fully recommend this 1100S from Chigwell Satellite.

Died within one year - lost all recordings saying there was no HDD, which clearly there was. Disappointing as it worked for less than a year making it an expensive purchase. I appreciate it was refurbished, but this sort of tech kit shouldn't be a disposable item.Had bought this refurbished Freesat recorder as they are better in use than the 'Freesat' own label who now are the only new option. However, wouldn't risk buying refurbished again.

Set up in minutes after our last Humax Freesat HD box finally gave up the ghost. Would I buy again? I did, and I’m so glad I did.

Bought this to replace our old Humax, had years of trouble free viewing with it, tried others that weren't a patch on this one, everything works as it should, you really would think it was a brand new one, shame Humax stopped making them and all credit to Amazon trouble free dispatch and great productUpdate 17/03/2025Be aware that the remote is not a genuine one, it gave up the ghost today, so will have to purchase another one, but not from this supplier and I wasn't told it was a micky mouse one
