but it is really beautiful and nicely machined
I purchased this vise almost a year ago and use it in my shop. This vise is very heavy duty and durable. The large base bolts down securely to my bench. I have secured everything from wood projects to heavy angle and I-beam steal in this vice with not a whimper on its part. The screw drive that opens and closes the vice is smooth and without the wobble you see in chinese made vises. Not only is this vise rugged, but it is really beautiful and nicely machined. I have pounded and shaped metal with sledgehammers in and on this vise without any mishap. I firmly believe that my children's children will still be using this vise years from now. I can't say enough good things about my vise.

Very heavy duty
I love the ease of clamping and unclamping with this vise. My smaller vise seems to take more effort because the handle is too short.

This is one big ash vise very heavy. Will probably do anything you will ever need.Great value.

GREAT VISE BUT CHANGE THE NAMEPLATE
Great vise, very well made, but don't like the cheap flimsy Wilton name plate. Would have preferred it cast into the casting body. The vise will long outlive the plate.
