The Livescribe Desktop App and helper Adobe App runs on my Windows 10 Lenovo laptop but not sure about Surface Pro platform

Q: Can I print my own dotted paper from a website or I always have to buy the notebook

I think LiveScribe doesn't exist or doesn't provide any more support for their products. I had a lot of trouble with their buggy software. Also, the LCD screen on my Pulse pen died, and they didn't want to replace or repair the screen, but wanted me to buy a new pen. If you can get new books, get them while they are still available, and there used to be special files included in their PC software that you could print out, so you could print your own paper for writing on. So, conclusion, try downloading their software first, see if you can print the paper from their software, before going ahead with a purchase of the pen.

Q: What size audio connector/jack does the headset/pen have? Want to get an adapter to use comfortable earbuds for listening, but can't find info.

Just a plain regular headphone Jack, 3.5mm I think.

Q: what ever the pen hears does it transcribe it to my computer or is it what i hear i have to write it down??

It records what is written and whatever it hears. It links whatever is said to whatever you are writing at the time. It will record audio even if you are not writing.
