Haldirams (ready to eat) yellow dal tadka

I am a bit of a fanatic when it comes to researching things I get on line. After a lot of searching, it appeared that Haldiram’s was the best reviewed brand. Frankly, I was a bit skeptical, but I love Indian food and have a vegetarian son, which makes it difficult sometimes to plan dinners, so I figured I’d give this a try. I was very please. Delicious, a bit spicy and super easy to make.

The taste was good but was shocked when I got the package. Thought I was getting 4 packets. Way too expensive for only one packet

To me a perfect Dal. I could not make at home any better. I did add a few chopped up leaves of cilantro. It has not been over-salted which often happens with store-bought products. As to the heat for me it was perfect. With the first mouthful, a little heat comes through which tends to disappear after the 3rd mouthful. If you really don't like spicy food this is probably not for you. For anyone who loves Indian food, there is nothing better.

I wasn't sure what this was when I ordered it. It was dried, curry flavored, noodles, ready to eat. I guess you could say it was like a cereal but very India curry flavored. It was not really something that I enjoyed on its own, but mixed with something it would add crunch and some flavor I imagine. It was not for me though. I prefer something that is like a soup based curry. Like the headline says I wasn't sure what this was or what it's intention really is.

This is really quite good, however the Kohinoor brand is better. The problem I have is the price you can buy this, and other verities of these at Big Lots for $2.00 each.

Nice amount of spice (heat). Really enjoyed this as a quick bite. Not like homemade, but in a pinch ...

A good purchase that tastes ok, has adequate salt and worth trying. It is twice as expensive as it should be.
