Pomander tool
Absolutely love this! I will be using it every time I make my holiday pomanders. It's very easy to carve, well-made, and doesn't feel cheap.

Granddaughter enjoys them. Not bad quality.

Can, in fact, cut through the cut resistant gloves
Very nice, very sharp. Will not make you an expert at a craft you've never tried, nor will it cure you of your own clumsiness. I did, in fact, cut myself through the cut resistant gloves, good job me... (don't tell my boyfriend, he doesn't need any more proof that I can't be trusted with sharp things)

On the cheep side and dulls quick. It comes with a sharpening stone ruler and pencil. I will look for a more quality one next.

Ok. Suggest you spend a little more $$
First I admit I am a newbie, but I do know about sharp tools. Most of these aren’t. To be fair I have been working on Maple which is very hard wood. Going to try softer wood to see how they work. I believe this is also an example of you get what you pay for. Other more expensive tools work better for sure. PS Tried softer wood. They stuck suck. Do not hold an edge.

Review from a Beginner
I'm new to buying carving tools as I've just started getting into rubber stamp making. I'll structure this as a pros and cons with my overall thoughts at the end. I hope you find this helpful!Pros:-they feel sturdy in myjand. The handle and blades are attached to each other well. The handles feel strong, at least strong when working with soft materials like rubber or soft woods. I haven't tried with harder materials.-large variety of blades-easy to sharpen (which is also something I'm new to doing. Surprisingly I didn't mess any blades up yet)-comes with a compact case so I can store them without taking up too much spaceCons:-all blades came fairly dull-some blades had minor defects (some shown in my second picture, I did my best to make them visible) While there are small defects I feel they can be corrected easily and I'm personally unconcerned with them.Overall: I like these tools. I've carved one stamp already and it went well. The tools are sturdy and they were very easy to sharpen. You really get a lot for the price you pay, so even though there were some small defects I can't complain. This may not be the best set for a professional, but it's a great set for beginners. The tools are small, they are not for large scale wood working (For instance, I wouldn't try to make a wooden cereal bowl with these) they are intended for small scale projects/ detail work, which is exactly what I bought them for.

Just be prepared put a new edge on them if they come chipped
For some of my tools they the blades were chipped and it’s going to take time for me to re sharpen them to get he chips out of the tools. How ever for the price there not that bad I’m using them to carve wax so there going to last many years
