When I ordered these I did not realize they were plastic. They are pretty thin, but they lay down nicely.. They came with a smell, but since removing them from the packaging the smell is gone. All in all they are really nice. Even though they are plastic they don't look cheap. This also makes clean a lot easier. Haven't had them long enough to know how they will stand up over time, but as of now I am pleased.

This is a sturdy placemat. I use it in my pottery designs. It is beautiful.Barbara

Loved these placemats...perfect for my gingko leaf themed dinning room. I ordered in both gold and silver color...silver looks little rolled up coz I hist opened it...totally recommend this product.

They are beautiful, but they arrived tightly rolled up. I had heavy books stacked on them for days, flipping them every so often, and each one still had a curl on the edges by the time I wrapped them. My mom likes them, though, or she said she does.

Don't you just love it when you get something that looks nicer than the pictures! Sturdy looking too!
