This is a great heat resistent mat. It is really thick so I have no worries about any heat penetrating through. The value of money is great too as I paid less than $10 for it. I can fit 2 hair items on the mat. It is not very wide, probably about 6 inches but you do not need anything bigger than that

I recently bought a very high end curling iron that doesn’t have a stand or anything to prevent the barrel from touching the counter surface. I bought this to use as a pad under the barrel to prevent heat damage to my counter surface, and also to use as a sleeve while traveling. This works really well and I’m glad I purchased it, would recommend to anyone in a similar situation.
