May depend on the trim. However, I purchased this for a 2006 Jeep Liberty Limited, worked great.

What kind of warranty does this product have?

I don't really know it, but it's about 4 years ago I installed them to my KJ and they keep in good conditions.

Does the greese fitting install on the side as the picture indicates? Plenty of clearance for it?

The grease fitting can point anywhere you want it to. Just turn the boot so when the ball joint is installed the opening in the boot faces inward away from the rotor. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the boot can be oriented so the opening faces inward and the grease fittings are both facing to the rear out of harms way. If you haven't the ability to figure that out maybe just have a shop fix your car so we are all safer.

These have an oversized housing for tighter fit. Does that make it harder to press in with an on-car press rented from your neighborhood parts store?

As per my understanding,it's the sane size. I fits well. I didn't use an.on car press. I took the whole piece out and use a standard press.
