Definitely worth the money!
Definitely worth the $$$. After breaking my lower leg it was difficult using my toilet even though it's a higher seat and elongated. Be aware that the additional 5+ inches works for me and I'm 5'9". If you're shorter you might want something less than 5". Fit perfectly but if you put pressure on the edge it can move a bit but no problems for me.

Toilet Riser
And absolute necessity for people with knee issues. Easy to use and clean. Reasonably priced.

Fits pretty secure
It works perfectly for what I need, it definitely will not fit an elongated toilet bowl, and does slide side to side a tiny bit, but otherwise it doesn't slide when we sit down, it's pretty comfortable. Bought this because our new toilet is so low, works great with the squatty potty too. If anyone fell on this I'm guessing it probably was way too loose on their specific toilet, but on my toilet it's not bad at all. If you jump on it or sit on it hard it could possible come off, but no problem here so far.

Works fine for my husband while he heals from broken ribs.
My husband slipped on black ice and broke six ribs and sustained a collapsed lung. Moving at all makes him scream out in pain and he is the toughest guy I know. It was obvious that he could not use the toilet as low as it was. I ordered this Carex Toilet Seat Riser because the one my son picked up at another store was more than twice the cost and a foam one that only padded and raised the seat an inch or two. This one works well for my husband. It does not attach to the toilet so I can remove it for my use easily. It feels very secure on our toilet which is not elongated. It is a great help for my husband who can sit down and stand up on his own with the riser on the seat in place. He hates having anyone help him so this gives him some independence while he heals. If I were to buy a toilet seat riser for someone who would be using it all the time, I would get one that attaches to the seat for stability. But for our needs, this seat works fine. I do wish it had a few more pieces of the adhesive that keeps it stable. I worry a bit that it could shift. It hasn't yet but my husband has only used it for a few days so far. If it stays as stable as it has been, I will be very happy. I will update if he encounters any issues.

Great height and secure
This is great especially if you don’t want to permanently attach it. It has non slip grip on the bottom that is very stable. Easy to disinfect after each use with a Lysol wipe. It’s very high so easy on and off. Hope this helps someone.

Worked perfectly on vacation--allows me to travel with bad knees
I recently took this elevated toilet seat on my vacation and I purchased it specifically for travel use so I thought I'd share my experiences with it. I was on an airplane trip and the seat fit in my checked luggage (24") though it does take up some space for other things. I have bad knees but handicapped accessible hotel rooms, while having ADA height compliant toilets, often have very low beds which are difficult for me to use. This toilet seat allowed me to be in a regular hotel room and still accommodate my disability. The first hotel room I was in had a standard elongated toilet. The seat fit perfectly (with the regular toilet seat up) but you need something at the back to keep it from sliding backwards. I took a couple newspapers and rolled them into a cylinder and placed it between the back of the toilet and the elevated seat. This kept the elevated toilet seat in place and it was solid for use. I did not experience any movement or slippage of the seat sitting directly on it--if you move your weight substantially to the sides you would have tipping but that is the same with my permanent elevated toilet seat at home. The second hotel room I was in had an atypical shaped elongated toilet. It was much more round in the middle than a standard one. This elevated seat still fit (with a brace at the back) but it wasn't quite as stable. I did not have any difficulties however--you just had to make sure you weren't too rambunctious in moving around when using it.I found that this elevated seat is also pretty easy to clean. I washed it in the shower with the hotel shampoo that I never use. I then dried it and used Wet Ones wet wipes to thoroughly disinfect it. If you are on a car trip you could easily bring a spray bottle of disinfectant instead. The elevated seat fits in this duffle bag that I purchased here on Amazon (40L capacity) so it canbe carried discretely with your other luggage. A bonus is that there is also room left in the bag for your dirty laundry or shoes. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FDYNR5M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I did place the cleaned elevated seat in a large garbage bag before placing it in the duffle (it all fit just fine).I decided to not bring the elevated seat back with me in my luggage--its cheap enough to be a throwaway item. But I did purchase another to keep at home for car trips and that one I plan to reuse several times. I haven't used the seat on a regular round shape toilet yet but I am certain it would work with that style also. Its possible there are some atypical shaped toilets out there that may be an issue (like the one I experienced) but I would think most hotels will have a standard style.Hope this all helps someone out there....

Not FBG friendly
I bought this to help me out after total knee replacement surgery. I am tall, most toilets are really low. I appreciate the 5.5" it's definitely needed, but the design of this seat isn't fat bottom girl friendly. It's also not good if you have a weak stream. The hole part is narrow in comparison to the seat part. They are wide and push your thighs together when you sit. Making for a great deal of creative maneuvering for clean-up. While it is the perfect height, the seat itself was made to fit too many toilets, so there is a good amount of slide side to side. If you're buying this as a post-op aid, you will need some sort of handles to help you down and up. We took the bedside seat the hospital will give you and removed the assembly for the pot, and it fit around the toilet perfectly. If I didn't have that, I am certain I would have fallen off or tipped this seat itself because it doesn't fit snugly on a standard toilet. It's functional so I am giving it a solid 3 stars. If you're an FBG like me, keep looking, otherwise be prepared for another level of post-go clean-up while you are drugged and learning to sit/stand/walk again.
