Works Fine
I have yet to see a mouse return to our engine bay, so will say it works. Nice that it is wired too, no need to worry about batteries going dead. Easy to install and wire if you're handy. I used a spare positive post on the fuse box, and the negative ground lug where you would attach jumper cables. The lights blink all of the time, so you can tell when its on. The on off switch is easy to locate and use too, so you can turn it off when your car is in a more secure area. Note - it does use your car's battery power. Not really an issue for a few days but for long term use you could consider keeping your car on a battery charger or tender.

No Rodent Problems Since Installed!
The Loraffe Underhood Repeller was easy to install and I have had no critter problems on my vehicles since installation--which is more than I can say before I tried this solution to keep mice and chipmunks at bay! While there is not a way for me to prove the Loraffe units are the reason for no critters gnawing on my vehicles, I can tell you that I have seen mice at a gas station trash can scatter like they were on a sinking ship shortly after shutting my car off to fuel up one night as the Loraffe unit automatically turned on after car motion stopped. It was not only comical, but indicated to me the Loraffe Repeller does indeed repel!

Whether they work or not is a tough call
We live in an area where mice get into our engines and inside the vehicle. I used these as part of a more complete mitigation that includes using hardware cloth to cover any air vent access to the vehicle. I also use the little bags with stinky stuff in them that mice don't like. We also park on drywall lathing since mice don't walk on it. Whether these work or not is a tough call. Easy to install. Doesn't drain our batteries.

Works perfectly!
We used this in my husband's truck to deter mice / rats from nesting there!

Did not work
I wish I could agree with other posters but this just did not work. We had to bring it to a shop to install it. It did not make a lick of difference. The same rat must have liked the ambient lighting and turned it into its private disco because it turned our truck into its personal leaf pad!!! It chewed up so much wiring that it cost us over to grand to repair.....sigh!

Value For The Money
Rodents started chewing on the soy-based insulation of my vehicle wiring in the Fall of this year (2020). I had the wiring damage repaired at a cost of $312.48. Two weeks prior to the repair work, I received the Under Hood Animal Repeller Model ZN-508 & installed it. The repair facility stated that there was no additional damage since the initial diagnosis, which coincided with the installation of the Animal Repeller. I would say that was attributable to the effectiveness of the Animal Repeller. I immediately reinstalled the Animal Repeller once the repair work was completed & have not seen any evidence of rodents chewing on the wiring, which has been about a week. I am completely satisfied with the product, & considering that the cost of the device was only $23.98, I would say the value for the extremely reasonable price is exceptional. The product is of acceptable quality, the instructions were clear & concise, & the installation was reasonably easy. I am hoping the Animal Repeller will keep me from having any additional issues or expenses in regard to rodents chewing on the wiring. When my current Animal Repeller wears out at some point in the future, which I realistically expect to happen, I will definitely be ordering a Loraffe replacement.

Bye-bye mice ?
Made this purchase for use in my motorhome during outdoor winter storage. The installation process was terrible! The unit should have alligator clips to simplify the install process. Finally did get it installed-- now we wait and see if it truly scares away rodents as stated in the company's written statement.

I'm at war!
After about $1,000 in car damage among two vehicles that happened overnight, I'm at war. Upon recommendation of the mechanic, I started with predator urine, spreading red fox urine everywhere along the perimeter of the house.Did not work. Clearcutting to make way for a new development down the road appears to have unleashed rodents with no fear into the local environment. After so more research, I added peppermint oil under the hood to the mix.Did not work. Apparently, I'm dealing with the spawn of Satan. So, on top of those two, I added the layers of this device and Rat X. I really do not want to resort to rattus novegicus-icide, but you gotta do what you gotta do.There had been an armistice. The Rat X disappeared overnight, and I noticed that activity around the burrows died down. Until this morning. I assumed, the combo of urine, mint, strobe, and desiccant had worked. Then on my way to run errands, I noticed that every warning light possible was going off. I looked under the hood and noticed that there was a ton of nesting materials that had appeared overnight. I had left the hood down overnight because it was raining.I was mad. I assumed this device did not provide the deterrent it promised. As I cleared out the holly bush, I noticed the device wasn't working. Upon closer inspection, the little buggers had chewed through the wire to the negative battery post AND chewed through the plastic post I used to position the device.Apparently, they really don't like this thing! Would recommend. I suspect it's actually the strobe that the rodents don't like, but I'm not an expert. Just a man who is very tired after a long, cold war.
