Book of Tokens-Tarot Meditations by Paul Case (1989-05-03) Hardcover – January 1, 1944

I actually was gifted a book around 2020 by someone before a journey I took it was called Be Here Now and it had a lot of quotations from The Book Of Tokens so I decided to buy it. My life has been a pretty intricate spiritual journey through so many different lives in one, so it’s really cool to read things and some of the things that resonated back then don’t as much now where as things that I didn’t fully understand I now fully get.

There are two books on the Tarot that I refer to consistently: the first is Learning the Tarot, by Joan Bunning, and the second is this book. There are a few things that you should know before purchasing this book...1) This is not an average Tarot book. Most books on the Tarot tell you how to read various spreads and give you a meaning for each card. This is not the book for that. This book is, as the title states, a book of Tarot Meditations. It does not necessarily tell you the meaning of the cards...it seems to tell you the 'spirit' of each card.2) This book only has the Major Arcana, as this is the blueprint for a sincere spiritual journey.3) This book is only for the sincere spiritual adept. If you are looking to use the Tarot to find out if some boy likes you or to see if you are going to be famous one day, you will find this book confusing and boring. If you are using the Tarot to discover deep spiritual truths within yourself and the world around you, this book is indispensable.I have loved this book for years. It is beautiful and full of poetry. It is one of my absolute favorite books of all the books I own. It is worth every penny, and then some.

For all who study Paul Foster Case and Ann Davies works of BOTA and Rosicrucian Order, this book is a must have for meditation. The book provides deep esoteric insight for all 22 Keys of the Tarot.Update: I purchased 7 more of these books for gifts. The hardcover is a nice touch.

I had a copy of this book, which I misplaced and wanted a new one. When I bought this one from Amazon, I was surprised and happy to find that all of the Tarot Keys are in color. Please note: This book will be useful to you if you are a student of Tarot and Qabalah. Some knowledge of Hebrew would also be helpful. The Author, Paul Case, was one of the founders of the BOTA in Los Angeles. He presents a good deal of esoteric knowledge in this book.

I am really writing this review for the shop it came from. These are pretty old books but when they arrived, and I opened the package, it was as if they were brand new. They had the old bookstore smell but they were just in pristine condition, still stiff as if they haven't been read yet. Very pleased with this purchase.

I received a full color edition, which is an added bonus. This book is small, say roughly 5x8 inches, but so packed with information, I am sure I will be referencing for the rest of my life. Thank you so much Cathy at Phoenix books!

This book is such a treasure. If you are into psychology or esoteric studies this book will help you understand so much. I will keep this book close and look over it many times throughout my life.
