Beautiful watch and band but had some problems with the activation switch.
I bought this watch in November 2023 to replace another watch that stopped keeping good time after 4 years. I really like the gold and silver band and the watch worked just fine for 10 months. In September 2024, it stopped working. That's strange I thought. Most watch batteries easily last a year or more. No big deal, I thought. I'll just get a new battery. The new battery worked for 15 minutes, then it stopped again. I went back, we tested the battery. The battery was good and the watch lights up, but it appears the "switch" in the adjustment stem did not maintain good contact. The watch stopped a couple more times more that day, but would resume after I pulled out the stem, reset the time, and clicked it back in. After the third time, I dropped three stars, but since it is now working for 24 hours, I gave back all but one star. I've owned electric watches for over 40 years, and this is the first electric watch that had problems before the end of the first year.

Bought Used!
Why buy new when you can get it gently used for less than 1/3 of the cost - seems perfect!

Nice dress watch for our teenager.
We bought this for our 15 year old son for Christmas. He LOVES the look of it. Very classic. He has small wrists so we knew the band would be way too large and it was. We spent some time trying to take the extra links off the band, and although it's definitely doable, it's meticulous work. We took the watch to a local jeweler who sized it perfectly really easily. It fits him and he loves it!

just okay
I initially was happily surprised when I destroyed the box, it's a much more beautiful watch than the photo suggests. The dial isn't black or a matte color, in the daylight it's metallic sheeny gray steel. And the gold stands out much brighter than in the pic. Very pretty. It's small like for a woman or child. The band won't fit a bigger wrist. Luckily it just gets around my big hand to slide on my small wrist. I prefer metal stretch bands, they're easy, retro, and the buckles are difficult for me at this age with poor sight and arthritis. This one works well for slimmer wrists but again it's smaller in keeping with the watch size, less width and shorter. It's not near the size or dazzling appearance of the bands of my Armitron or Wenger. Speaking of which for the same cost Armitron and especially Wenger is a far superior build and quality. I think Timex has sank to the lowest level of watches that are still acceptable. I can swim in my Armitron and Wenger. I wouldn't with this. It's cheaper in every way. But keeps good time. And glows. The luminescent hands on my Wenger glow brighter than the Timex indiglo light. Here's the caveat. Both I and someone with better hands tried vainly to adjust the day. It's not difficult or timetaking, it's broken. It just doesn't work. Period. We found the setting and turning doesn't do anything. From reviews many people had this problem. Time and date adjust fine. I paid only $25. I may or may not keep it. I probably won't buy another Timex.
