Hard to find.
Hard to find in Auto parts stores. Easy to use. High quality.

Works well for track wiring with modifications
Bought these for connecting track wires to a DCC bus. They do it well. However, two hands are not quite enough to hold the feeder wire in place, steady the connector, and clamp it with pliers. What solved the problem was drilling out the "plug" on the tap side, then running the feeder wire all the way through and putting a slight bend on the end to keep it from pulling out. I'm running 14 gauge bus and 20 gauge feeders BTW.

These are not cheap fasteners. Well worth the money.

KNOW HOW to use them.
I learned the hard way that the way to use these items is:1. When inserting the branching line, feel for the slight tick as it sinks home, and be sure you have enough IN the receptacle.2. With a pair of pliers, grasp the device firmly and squarely on the bottom and the metal piece and squeeze as hard as you can. You will usually feel a slight "give" as the connection is made.3. THEN close the cover. If you try to make the connection with the cover down, you will fail.

Very practical to use and have around
They came in handy when tapping onto brake lights to add a camera, and also when adding another speaker to the car. Once cables sit inside the metal could be pressed on with pliers and then the cover closes on it.

Time Saver
These were excellent for an electrical project I had. I was wiring a run of LED lights and I initially purchased 2 different brands of a scotch lock lock off from 2 big box stores. They were a total waste of time, they were junk and made my project 3x longer to complete.Someone told me about the 3M Scothlocks and I ordered them, the quality is good, they are easy to use and my project went by quick. I’m so sorry to have water my time with the knockoff brands.

The original and the best
The 3M Scotchloks are the original and the best in quality and function. They cost a little more, but they work perfectly every time. Excellent product for splicing a wire.
