The "Big and Tall" 14 inch frame
Ok, I hope this review can help someone that was like me. There are a lot of reviews that are for the Zinus brand bed base but for different models. This review is for the Zinus 14 inch Elite Smart base "Big and Tall". You can see each base model on the product description and compare them. With that being said, do not get it mixed with the 18 inch or other 14 inch models. This model is for the "Big and Tall" and it's added feature is extra stability and weight limit of 4,000 lbs. Now, my wife and I are not big and tall at all, lol. We are actually not even close to that, but I wanted the extra stability in the frame after reviewing other customer reviews showing how the frame began to bend on them. Look at the product pictures and you will see that on the Big and Tall frame there are extra thick beams throughout the frame, whereas the other frames have more of a wire going throughout the inside. Other reviews have showed those wires bending on people. I didn't want any chance of that happening, so I chose to go with the more thicker beamed framed. I'm glad I did because this frame is a tank solid. I've only had it for a couple of weeks now, but I am VERY - VERY PLEASED with my purchase. Time will tell if any squeaks will start, but right now absolutely quiet. No squeaks at all.Now the big topic everyone is concerned about, the storage space under the frame. This frame has at least 12 inch in height storage space. You might be able to squeeze a little more than that but you might have difficulty pulling out your container. I've included a photo with a 12 inch high tote under the frame. When I was in search of a base, I really wanted the 18 inch high Zinus frame, but I was concerned of the stability of the frame. From other reviews showing of the wired typed of frame has bent for others, I was also concerned with going 4 inches higher on the frame legs on 18 inch will make ghe frame less stable. I assume the higher you go, the less stable the legs are on the frame. I don't know if that is true, but the 14 inch frame with the solid bars throughout is very stable and still comes with excellent space under the bed. You can go 12 inches high and be safe, and you have the entire rest of the bed space for storage. My wife put together the frame and mattress HERSELF while I was at work. I guess she couldn't wait but she did an awesome job and it's not difficult. My entire king size bed came in 2 boxes from Amazon. The frame and mattress. We are using a "Classic Brands 14 inch Cool Gel Memory Foam" king size mattress that we couldn't be more pleased of. These two items together are a match made in heaven, lol. Although we will be putting some flat plywood between frame and mattress just to give more of a flat surface for the memory foam. I don't know if it's necessary because when I look under the bed, I don't see any substantial sagging. It looks fine, but I just want to be safe.At the end of the day, the frame is awesome and a great idea. Very sturdy, quiet, easy to put together and easy to move around. I am very pleased with my purchase and I highly recommend it.

Great Bed Foundation - This is the Best Model
This is the perfect one to get. Get this one. You'll see a lot of metal bed supports on Amazon, and you'll be wondering which one to get. In general, I think these beds are great. They are economical, foldable (great for moving and storage options), and sturdy. You don't have to buy a frame and box spring like you used to. Just buy a good mattress, and you are good to go.One drawback is that they aren't usually designed so that you can attach a headboard to them, so this may limit your options.Another drawback is that it doesn't seem they make this in California King sizes. This particular one may cost a little bit more than others, but I would suggest this one over the others.FYI - I use this frame with a Queen-sized Tuft & Needle memory foam mattress.(1) This bed was originally for a young child who weighs less than 50 pounds. So weight isn't a really a consideration - it's not about whether we think the bed will collapse. It's about how supportive the bed feels during every day use. The Elite base with the more substantial metal bars (over the cheaper frames that have a thinner, more wiry look) provided more noticeable overall support.(2) We replaced our child's bed - from this frame to a slatted wooden platform bed. In my opinion, the slats on the new bed did not provide the same support.(3) The recessed legs of this mattress foundation made it possible for us to simply place the frame right inside the wooden bed, over the slats. We didn't have cut into the wood frame to make room, it was a perfect fit and super-easy. I thought about buying a box spring, but I was able to use this frame as a replacement instead, and the bed feels incredibly solid and sturdy. My cousin has an Ikea bed that she used for a few years, and two of the slats broke. I told her about this solution, and she ordered the same one. It worked perfectly for her, and she didn't need to replace her bed. When shopping for a base, it's good to make sure that the legs are recessed - i.e., they recede from the side edges. Some of the other frames have the middle leg placed all the way to the edge. This is fine when the foundation is used alone, but it would prevent it from being used as a support for wooden beds, like I was able to do with this one.In general, I thought this was a great purchase, and I would buy it again.
