These are great, a good buy. I love making cedar plank salmon, and these work out just right for me. They even fit right into a half sheet baking pan, two or three boards.., forget at the moment but I actually found that pretty helpful.

I've paid much more for exactly the same cedar planks. Soak in water for 1/2 hour and then grill salmon on the bbq. When they catch fire use a spray bottle to control the burn but that's what gives the salmon the cedar smoke flavor. I believe the description said slightly imperfect but since you are going to burn them up anyway...who cares?

Many others were badly splintered or had knots and chips that flaked off when soaked. Based on the product description (page 1), I expected some minor imperfections—but this felt more like factory scrap than usable seconds.📏 Inconsistent Sizes & ThicknessesThe listing claims dimensions of approximately 12 x 5.5 inches, but what I received varied wildly—some were thin like veneer sheets, while others were too small to fit a decent-sized fillet. This inconsistency makes it nearly impossible to cook evenly or prep meals in advance.🔥 Unsafe for Direct Use on the GrillBecause of how brittle and cracked several of these were, I honestly didn’t feel safe placing them on an open flame. Even soaking them beforehand didn’t help—one board practically caught fire after just a couple minutes on the grill.✅ Pros:Smells like real cedarMight be okay for DIY craft projects—not for cooking❌ Cons:Over half the planks were cracked, chipped, or unusableMajor variance in size and thicknessPoor durability even after soakingNot grill-ready as advertisedOverall:This bulk pack might seem like a good deal, but the quality is so poor it ends up costing you more in wasted food and frustration. they have a few blemishes, cracks and holes. They still make smoke and flavor my fish. For 1 /5 the price of my other choice, I love them.

These planks are a good value IF you don’t need a large plank and don’t mind the rough imperfect surface. They are noticeably smaller than other planks that I have bought. We use these for cooking fish for two with skin on, so we are concerned about biting into a splinter of wood or running out of space. The planks are not always rectangular in shape as some have small chunks missing. I would rate them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ on value, when I bought them but ⭐️⭐️⭐️ due to their second tier quality. And I would hesitate to put anything on them without skin that I intended to remove before eating!

Keep in mind these cedar planks are “seconds”. They are not going to be the same quality as the ones that cost $5 each at retail stores. I eat a lot of fish so I was delighted to find these, they are a lot more economical than the ones sold at my local grocery store. They get the job done and I love saving money!
