How do you take care of these moss and lichens? How often should I water or mist them?

I put mine along with some of my office plants and I mist them a couple of times daily Monday through Friday. As a general rule if the moss is spongy and green you don't need to water it. If its soft but browning, less light. If it's hard and/or browning more water. is this safe for my chameleon terrarium?

I would think so, but my suggestion would be to look up your chameleons species and see what his natural habitat is like and decide whether lichen will survive in that environment. If the lichen rots, that would obviously not be good. To my knowledge, lichen is harmless, but I would hate to say go for it and end up with chameleon blood on my hands.

Will they live outside?

Lichen grows outside, so I would hope so.
