Buyer Beware
My 10 year old son saved up for 2 years to buy an electric scooter and after 4 months it is unusable! Buyer beware!! Here’s our story…The first scooter arrived used and wouldn’t even turn on. After several days we were finally able to get a replacement through Amazon. We thought all was well with the new arrival. A few days later my son said the handlebars weren’t straight. Thankfully my husband is handy and bought a larger bolt to better secure the handlebar. Next the battery stoped charging, this was around week 5. Again, my handy husband removed the casing around the battery and noticed the wires were loose so got out the soldering tools to make some repairs. Next around month 2 the wheels blew out, basically disintegrated. Handy husband found replacement tires and was able to replace/update the POS tires that came on the scooter. We were hopeful this was the last of the issues but now on month 4 the scooter has gone haywire. It’s showing an E8 code and when he tries to slow down by releasing the throttle it keeps accelerating. He’s unable to stop the scooter so we’ve stopped using it and called Hover 1 to discuss this latest issue. After emailing Hover 1 we’ve been told this is out of the 90 day warranty and there is nothing they can do! I’m disgusted after only 4 short months and a lot of addition time and energy repairing a defective scooter we are offered no assistance. I warn all potential customers to look elsewhere, try to find a reliable company that stands by their brand. My 10 year old is devastated, he loves this scooter and can’t begin to understand how after 2 years of saving for his dream scooter it’s all taken away with no one willing to help. Shame on you Hover 1!!!

For $300+ its not a bad scooter!!
I purchased 4 Hoover one journey scooters for the family and we have been having a great time going around our community. Funny I have read several reviews with people saying their lights stopped working they have bad battery life, they are not fast enough....My question to these people is what do they want for $300+ scooter. Their are scooters 3 to 5 times the price is what they should have purchased. I and my family have taken these scooters for many miles with no issues on performance. When she gets low on battery life you can see your down to 1 bar and yes she does slow up but hey its time to head home and charge her back up. We are getting about 12- 14 miles per charge. She has lights front and back, reflectors on sides, disc brake, multiple speed settings, cruise control and comes in multiple colors. So if your looking for a inexpensive scooter to go and have some fun this the scooter for you. But if looking at gong on a world tour you should look at a scooter that will handle the distance. We are happy with our purchase!!

Hover-1 Journey (New) Won't Turn On
First off, I will say that I am a Hover-1 fan. I have 6 other Hover-1 products (3 scooters and 3 hoverboards), and they all have been very good to me, so I was expecting a great experience with this Hover-1 Journey scooter. Read on for more details.Received my Hover-1 Journey (New) early May, 2023. Assembled the handlebar to the top of the main steering stem, which took about 15 minutes. The frustrating part of assembly was making sure that the wire that is connected to the handlebars didn't get "pinched" inside of the main stem. I took my time installing because I wanted it to be perfect. After assembly, I plugged the charger into scooter, then into the outlet. The light on the charger turned GREEN. With my other Hover-1 products, that means the battery is fully charged. Because I thought the scooter was charged, I tried turning it on by holding the power button on top of the steering column. Nothing happened. Then I tried just pressing the power button once (not holding). Nothing happened.I then decided to try charging it for about an hour. The light on the charger stayed green the whole time. After an hour of charging, I tried turning the unit on again. Still nothing. This unit is defective. I have a replacement coming early June (through Amazon - thank you!) and will update this review after I receive it.TL;DR - Unit was defective and ordered a replacement through Amazon.

Buy a different one that will last
These were AMAZING at first. Fast forward to July and they barely hold a charge. My kids are so sad because these were Christmas gifts. They're very easy to use, has a nice smooth ride also. Very easy to assemble, but the performance after time went down hill. We have had these almost 7 months.

Decent but could be better
I've had several trips now so wanted to share my feedback. I weigh about 160lbs. I've gotten nowhere near 16 miles range on a full charge. Mostly flat surface around town. 10-11 miles maximum with the last 2 miles or so going at half the speed until the battery fully depletes. Also, at 14mph this scooter is slower than my other one at 15.5 mph. Just 1.5mph is quite noticeable. The installation was horrible. It came with extra screws. At first, I thought why do you need all these spare screws. However, when trying to screw it in you will quickly find out it doesn't go in all the way and you end up messing up the thread on the screw and needing to try a new screw. After about 15min or trying to screw it in, I hav exhausted all the spare screws. So, now I have one screw sticking out and not being able to tighten by hand all the way in. See photo of what I mean. The price on this is decent, but I'd probably be willing to spend a little more for better range and speed.
