Seems true: the only bag that works
I bought many different brands and types initially, and this is the only type (mylar with texture) and brand that works in my high-end vacuum sealer. I've re-purchased these several times in all sizes and run about 500, won't buy anything else again. It took me a while to get good at this also, many technique tricks to learn to get it right. It's imperative that the bag is clean on the inside at the seal point (no food dust or salt or grease or such, so I run my fingers once around the inside margin for dusty or fine foods); that the bag, because it is thin and not rigid, is perfectly flat and even from the outside all the way to the vacuum chamber (I put it in a little more than I need, close the lid, then grab at both sides and pull sideways and out a quarter inch to smooth any wrinkles); that the bag is not over-full, not filled so much that as it shrinks it pulls towards the center at the top edges (at the seal line), which causes wrinkles and therefore seal failure; and if there's any indication of wrinkles on the seal line after the first seal, then I run a second half an inch up.My only persistent issue with these is that they're delicate (thin) and can puncture when sealing anything sharp (grains, nuts, granola, other hard and dry items) or if not very careful in handling after sealing, so even when I'm able to achieve close to a 100% success rate in the sealing process, I still have a varying failure rate (with some foods) with leaks not at the top seal. One way to deal with this is to keep product in the original package, tear off a corner to unseal, and then leave the original package in as a protective/insulating layer. They're also not completely light-proof, and only time will tell if they're oxygen-resistant also and will preserve as the thicker bags promise to.I'd rather give this 3 or 4 stars for absolute performance (it's far from perfect), but for relative performance it gets 5.

They work
I have bought Mylar bags before, and they just do not work in my sealer. These do, and they work great. I finally have a way to seal certain foods for long term storage by using my vacuum sealer. They come in different sizes for great variety. These bags are really easy to use, and they are terrific quality. I can recommend them easily, and I rate them highly. They just work, and they seal great. I give them 5 big stars.

Effective and easy to use.
I like having mylar bags that I can use with my vacuum sealer. No need of another tool to heat seal mylar bags. Being able to add oxygen absorber and vacuum seal the bags gives added food security.

Great product, hard to seal
I bought these for preserving extra hops for brewing, they worked well enough but on my Foodsaver I found that the seal did not fully seal, some would fill with air immediately, some took a couple hours. I found that the "wet" seal function was able to seal the bag on the first attempt. I also had success with sealing dry then opening the unit and closing it quickly and sealing again, effectively double-sealing the same spot to get more heat into the bag. After a week all but one bag was still fully sealed.

If you have a freeze dryer and vacuum seal, these are the ticket
A freeze dryer is a big investment, not for everybody. But if you've taken the plunge and plan to vaccum seal (particularly meats), it's important to have the right supplies. My research early on indicated that to do so, texured, embossed bags work best. After shopping online, I found these to be the best product at the best price, have been using them since and will continue to do so. RECOMMEND.

Works with a standard FoodSaver v2222
Wanted Mylar bags that would work with a FoodSaver vacuum sealer. These appear to work really well. I did a test batch with 4 lbs of dried beans and while it did take a bit longer to pull the air out, it did a great job. I can't even shift the beans around inside the bag because the seal is so tight, so make sure you have them flat when you seal them. Worked great, highly recommend.

Work great in a vacuum sealer - texture works great
Just make sure there is no food in the gap when you go to seal and these work great. Sealed fine with both a vacuum sealer machine and also a clothes iron. The texture works very well to allow the machine to pull a deep vacuum on the entire bag contents. Tough bags, I had crushed ramen noodles with poky ends and the bags are holding vacuum great.
