Q: Is this an Alkaline or Acid.

The premix is something like 20-25% phosphoric acid and their concentrate is about 80-85% phosphoric acid. Safe on most metals. Phosphoric acid reacts very aggressively with anything that has calcium which is why its so effective on dissolving hard marine growth. Most metals found in marine mechanical applications are safe but it will react with zinc.

I don't think you would want to pickle your motor with a barnacle removing product because you would want to flush your system after it has broken down the debri inside of it....that acid needs to be flushed out.

One gallon of concentrate makes 5 gal and should be plenty if circulated for 3 hrs. Flush after, do not leave it in engine to "pickle"
