I have extremely sensitive eyes, and typically have issues with facial sunscreens. I haven’t had any issues using this product for sensitive skin. Glides on and dries so you can use a moisturizer then foundation without pilling. Scent is very mild and is mostly gone when dried- highly recommended.

I purchased this product originally from Target and Whole Foods. Then came across it on Amazon cheaper. The lotion has no residue once it’s applied to my skin. It’s light weight and moisturizing. My makeup goes on top easily. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. The extra bonus is that it has rose stem cells and SPF 18. Rose stem cells help skin cells grow and replicate. Rose stem cell extract also prevents signs of aging. I have fussy skin. It has a tendency to be oily, but it also gets dried out easily - which then causes it to break out. Worst of both worlds. I like the moisturizer because it is gentle (and has relatively clean ingredients). It's not super heavy or greasy, yet it provides soothing hydration that penetrates the skin and leaves it feeling soft and healthy. It doesn't cause me to break out, there's zero irritation, and it doesn't leave me feeling like an oil slick. I often only apply it in the morning, but will apply it at night too on days when my skin feels like it needs extra care. The scent is light. I don't know that I would say it truly smells like roses, but at least it isn't harsh or perfumy.

This lotion is very calming. As I have aged (50 years old), my facial papulopustular Rosacea has become much worse. I always had really nice skin but as I’ve gotten older I have been getting red bumps/pustules on my cheeks almost daily which are unattractive and make me self conscious. They are different from regular pimples and somewhat painful.After trying many topical medicines and creams including high quality esthetician facial lines, “calming” lotion from big name companies, and prescription topical antibiotics, this seems to be the best daily moisturizer with sun protection for my skin.The magic formula that seems to be working for now to almost completely clear skin is a sulphur-based daily face wash (by prescription), followed by the 1000 Roses daily shade, and a daily high quality probiotic + turmeric capsules. The probiotic is an *essential* part of the whole treatment for rosacea and many dermatologists/estheticians never mention diet or microbiome. I actually believe the probiotic is the most important part of this regime. (I’ve been using Garden of Life raw probiotic for women). If you buy it, get it at a store where it is refrigerated.I have spent hours researching causes of Rosacea and this 3-part approach addresses issues including possible Demodex reaction, sensitive skin, daily sun protection, and internal microbiome/inflammation control.Avoid processed foods, especially excess sugar, and get plenty of fruits, vegetables and water. Do not exfoliate regularly with anything scratchy—use a soft cotton cloth, high quality enzyme cream (not peel off mask), or a soft washcloth only.Avoid anything topical that is alcohol or witch hazel based: my doctor prescribed clindamycin suspended in an alcohol solution which created huge red bumps all over my face. I discontinued use of the metronidazole gel and clindamycin as both were in alcohol based gel or lotion and actually seemed to irritate skin over time in spite of the medications contained in them.Will continue to buy this and may try other items in this Andalou 1000 roses line. Andalou 1000 Roses moisturizer is good for daily use. I have combination skin, and it moisturizes my dry skin areas without exacerbating the oiliness of the parts of my face that have oily skin. Aside from whether a skincare product does what it is advertised to do, there are 4 criteria that determine whether I will buy the product again:1) Scent - I have a very sensitive nose, and if a product works well but has an unappealing scent, I won't keep using it. I'm happy to report that this moisturizer has a pleasant, light rose scent. It is not overpowering or artificial-smelling at all.2) Viscosity - I hate products that are too thick and goopy because I find them hard to apply, but I also don't like products that are too thin because it feels like it's not really covering well. This moisturizer is fairly thick, similar to a body butter, and it goes on smoothly.3) Price/Value - This moisturizer is a great value. You get a lot for the price, and you get comparable results as with a more expensive product.4) Packaging - Nothing is more frustrating than having a great product but poor packaging. This packaging is no-frills but does the trick. I do wish it had a flip-top lid because I find it hard to screw the lid back on after my hands are freshly moisturized.I wanted to note that the SPF active ingredients include Avobenzone, which some people are sensitive to.
