This little unit is awesome. What it may lack in I/O and switching capabilities compared to some much more expensive modelers, it makes up for in the quality of tone. The amps are very nice sounding and respond fairly well for a digital platform. What impressed me the most was the cab sims. I usually use IR files like most will with a unit like this, but I found myself using the stock ones for almost every patch I made, especially the Mesa 412. The effects on the unit are decent, but the reverbs take the cake amongst them. This is a great purchase for any player! You’ll have a lot of fun with it.

I received this unit and it had finger prints on the LED already, the cords and cables were all half tied and the unit seems to be a dud so far. I cannot get the firmware to update and have had to research the internet for hours to see if I was doing something wrong. You have to download an old version of the editor first and then backup the unit to that editor and then update your software and firmware. Nowhere does it say before you buy this that you may want to be a computer sofware expert and understand what they want you to do. I am pretty technology savvy and I have an Ampero stuck on a firmware update that goes nowwhere. I am now having to email customer support for Hotone which is in China. Goodluck with the communication barrier. Also, some of the wording in the processes leaves you to wonder if China had English speaking quality control checked. My Ampero LED currently reads "Udpating in progress please not shut down". ???

I've returned it recently. To me it all sounded kinda the same. Not much variation in anything. I didn't spend hours getting it all dialed in, and that might have made it a little better. But overall, it sounded kinda generic. And I'm not new to multi-effects pedals. I've been using them for 20 years. This one didn't feel intuitive to use. And going through all the menus to get to other menus frustrated me a lot...It is a well built pedal, and looks really nice with the brushed black paint. It has more features than I would have used. It just wasn't for me.

I have been searching for a long time for a Pedal board that is small, lightweight and therefore really easy to carry anywhere. In a backpack, a laptop bag. And sound amazing. I have had a few Effects boards before and felt ok with their sound. But I love the Ampero's sounds. I finally found one that I feel is perfect for what I want.I had tried the HeadRush and liked it a lot, but it was so heavy and expensive. And Axe FX are still the best out there, but again heavy and expensive. Maybe when I have roadies I can go heavy.But for the price and the sounds, I love the Ampero!
