Pasta Boil over Curtailed
Helps to keep the pasta water from bubbling over. I guess it counters the starch in the water from the pasta.Even rattles sometimes in the pot of water. Adds excitement.

Absolutely amazing
I bought this thinking it would never work. Well tonight I made pasta for the first time since I got it. I made a full pot of papardelle and it didn't boil over! The pot was extremely full and at a full boil. I wish I'd heard of this a long time ago. Buy one for your kitchen, you won't regret it.

Tells me when water is boiling
I use the disk in a pot of water so I’ll know when it reaches the boiling point. It rattles…not very loud, but it’s audible. Very useful if you like to start eggs in cold water and remove from heat once the water boils.

Can't live without!
Who would live without this little disc? Never, never do my pots overflow! I add these to every wedding present I give. People always tell me they are the best thing since sliced bread! Yes, you can put a wooden spoon over the pot, but why? Buy this, you won't believe how well it works for just a little thing.

Helps keep water from boiling over
I made this purchase because I broke my wife's glass one that is over 40 years old. I enjoyed using the glass one for years. This one is ceramic. It works. It seems to work differently than the glass one. By that I mean the glass one rattled around more in the pot while cooking. The glass one is heavier and has larger raised areas. That may be the difference. I will continue using it for as long as it lasts. However, if I find a glass one, I will purchase it as well.
