Tow Towing Trailer Hitch Receiver Black for Land Rover LR3 2005-2009, LR4 2010-2016, Range Rover Sport 2006-2013

First of all after the install which wasnt that difficult, the 2" reese hitch would not fit in the square hole. I had to shave the inside lips down with a file. After I got that to work, the only thing I put on the hitch was a hitch carrier to put a large ice chest on the back when we go camping (so I could see it while driving). Well I bought a dirt dirt bike and an aluminum hitch bike carrier. When I was driving home I could see the bike bouncing up and down when I was on the freeway. When I got home I unloaded the bike and stood on the carrier and bounced up and sown on it and the entire hitch flex's a lot. Im only 200lbs. Now I plan on buying a travel trailer and I am replacing this with a Curt full mount hitch. I would not trust this for anything heavy at all.

Did not sit flush on vehicle, arrived with no time to spare so we had to try and make it work. Bad idea! Had to grind out the receiver to even get a hitch in. 4 hours into the trip the bolts all loosened and it was at risk of sheering them off and dropping the entire hitch/trailer. Stopping every 10 miles for the next 5 hours to retighten the bolts (even though we used the included locking washers). All around would only recommend to those with a death wish, either their own or for other motorists following them. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

Easy to install, works just as it should. We hauled a 5x8 uhaul trailer from Seattle to Iowa in our RRS supercharged. No problems. I only wish this came in a bundle with the wiring harness that we needed . Which I didn't realize. But that was my error. Overall very satisfied, have to say I was nervous when I got it. But held up perfectly.

I read the other reviews on here prior to ordering and was concerned that this product would be cheap, or flimsy or unsuitable. It isn't It is very robust, much more so than I hoped. It is all pretty much 1/4" thick formed and welded steel plate. This is a much better option than the stock Land Rover trailer hitch that it replaces. I have a large full size spare that was blocked by the stock trailer hitch. This design does not block removal of the spare. and the spare can be lowered with this hitch in place. Now, two complaints; 1.) the bolts provided are too small in diameter. Two of the mounting bolts should be 3/4" not the 5/8" supplied and the other that goes in the rear mount should be 5/8". I will be changing out all three when I get a chance. 2.) the coating on the steel is kind of thick for corrosion protection (which is good), but they also coated the inside of the hitch receiver effectively narrowing the 2" clearance. I couldn't easily fit my ball mount into the receiver and had to grind it down ever so slightly. Other than these two minor complaints I am very happy with the product especially at the price.

Before installation ensure you have a reliable torque wrench. Center bolt - 65 Ft lbs. the 2 "Outside bolts require 100 - 110 Ft pounds. There are several videos online demonstrating installation. Dropping the spare tire is highly recommended for easier access to install the "center bolt". NOTE: This has a 2" receiver so if your hitch is smaller you'll need to install/utilize a "sleeve". Bonus: This part is a fraction of the cost of the OEM receiver.

If you plan to use this for something like a bike rack, it will be just fine. Would not plan to get close to the capacity limits in the description based on quality or design, however.The hitch does not fit perfectly flush on the factory rover mount. Worse, the cutouts on the hitch do not line up properly or allow enough adjustment, so the bolts end up installing at a slight angle. As an engineer, there is no way to factor the stresses that this causes and is certainly not designed that way.I tried another similar mount on Amazon and had to return because the fitment was even worse than this one. Would recommend getting an OEM or Atlantic British unit if you plan to do serious towing.

Item arrived on time and while price is about $20 more than on ebay and other web vendors, I opted to go for an amazon seller. Measured opening and almost square and at 2” flash, so made the choice to go ahead and install, following web directions on the right torque on screws and even locktite to keep the job safe and permanent.Tried to attach a bike rack today and could not get it to go in beyond 2” .. then realized that the inside of the hitch receiver has leftover metal from the welding. ##&#&$ .. stuck on what to do next ... perfect installation made it hard to remove and will need to get a professionals help and professional tools to cut screws and removeBad quality, bad quality control ... invest a few dollars more and get the right part .. it will end up being less expensive ... lesson learned
