Everything easy to find and understand
As a beginning crocheter, I'm often at a loss on stitches, their abbreviations and such. I was hoping this book would offer a way to quickly figure things out. And it does that wonderfully.First, I was impressed with the index. Instead of just listing the name of each stitch (it's not like I know most of them, yet), there's a small, colored photo of the stitch as well. So, I just can glance over the index and see what I'm looking for no matter what the name is (although the name is also there and simple to locate). The types of stitches (edges, clusters, basics, etc) are color coded according to the thread used in the photo...a nice, easy way to make it clear exactly which type it is.Each stitch is presented on its own page (or half a page for easier stitches). There is a photo of someone creating the stitch (close up) as well as a detailed, step-by-step instruction. It's easy to understand and follow. The stitches are also shown in graphic form as found in some patterns.Following the stitches, there is a chapter on yarn types, materials (hooks and such), basic techniques for us beginners, very basic stitches (chain, slip, etc), simple variations (like working into spaces or rows), and what popcorns and such are. Then, (another of my favorites) there's a chart for the abbreviations with their meanings. Also there's a chart with the stitches, their abbreviations and their symbols. These are both easy to read and quick to use. And as an extra bonus, there's a quick reference to the difference in terms according to American English or British English. In other words, I've found exactly the book I've been looking for.

This is an excellent book!
This book is great for anyone who crochets - from the beginner to advanced. There is so much you can learn in it! I love that the stitches are easily explained and the different patterns laid out well so you can replicate them. Beginners can get accustomed to the stitches and patterns while the seasoned crocheter can use these to enhance their projects or even make their own pattern from them. Highly recommend!!

A book of Crochet Borders
This is just what the title says, a book of border stitches - some simple, some more complex, but pretty much “something for every level of crochet fan”. I found several that I’ll use.

Wonderful guide for different stitches
There’s so many things you can make using all these stitches. A sampler Afghan would be perfect. Bless you all thank you.

Offers great instructions and pictures
The media could not be loaded. I like how colorful this book is! It’s laid out nicely, too, with stitches being categorized so they’re organized well. Very informative and easy to read.

Helpful for a lost beginner!
I’m just getting into crocheting; I had been doing the only two simple stitches I knew from a single YouTube video, trying to figure out how to make ONE TINY ROUND COASTER WITHOUT IT CURLING IN ON ITSELF SIX ROUNDS IN, and bought this book out of frustration with YouTube and useless fingers. Anyway, it’s great! I made my very first, real, definitely-not-perfect-but-I-made-it thing that wasn’t a handle-less basket-pouch or an attempt at a coaster: a scarf, with the grid stitch I thought looked like I could understand. (I was mostly wrong, but that’s okay because the book also has helpful lists with the abbreviations that would be a mystery to someone new to crocheting, like myself.) So I recommend this, as a beginner; if you’re lost about where to begin and what stitches there are other than single and double crochets, this definitely helped me and gave me more interest in actually sticking with this as a hobby.
