The computer received was an Optiplex 5050 vice the 5040 in the description. However the 5050 is virtually, if not identical than the 5040 so no problem here. It was fairly up to date on the software. While no CD/DVD was installed, they did send an external USB CD/DVD reader/writer...a great bonus and perfectly suitable for my needs. The keyboard was a generic one, not Dell, but in my usage, I have sufficient Dell and Microsoft keyboards so no problem here. I my specific computer, it had the optional VGA support although I'm just using the two DP ports for my dual display. Another very important fact...the seller is an Authorized Microsoft Refurbisher - in my experience this is a higher quality product than just a Renewal productAs for the device itself, it was immaculate. Absolutely no signs of any wear, nor any signs of dust. The operating system came on a 2.5" SSD as described in the item description; and no problem with digital license activation. There is plenty of room for storage expansion since there are cables for two SATA devices, and space & clip for an M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD.The operating system, Windows 10pro 20H2, was fairly current although the partition configuration didn't provide for UEFI boot capability, only legacy booting. I believe there are ways to add UEFI boot capability but that will require further experimentation. Preparing this device for Windows 11 in the future will require a little effort (e.g. UEFI booting) but the machine is fully capable of supporting Windows 11 - including TPM, storage, processor speed, etc.Bottom line - excellent value, outstanding condition, robust options, and good future flexibility.

This refurb from STG is very nice. Works as expected as an office machine. Keyboard and mouse are decent with a pretty clean Win10 OS. Obviously not for gaming but can handle certain games at low settings (not meant for gaming and a gaming performance review is unnecessary). Decent amount of I/O ports and is a good performer for standard office tasks (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, emailing, web browsing). Dual channel RAM is very encouraging. If you really want to game on this, a dedicated GPU will add much value but you'll need to swap cases for fitment clearance (unless you prefer a steampunkish aesthetic setup). After much research and price comparison, I’m so happy with my purchase!!! This was perfectfor my home office! East to assemble. Fits perfect on the corner of my desk. Has an excessive about of USB ports and inputs for all accessories, such as speakers, keyboard, mouse, HDMI, dual monitor hook up etc.The only down side that made me completely bummed was the keyboard arrived broken and the mouse in a sandwich bag, dirty and not usable. Good thing I had my own. I get I purchased used however it could have been cleaned more.Yet I’m happy with my purchase!!!!

I purchased a refurbished Dell PC from STG USA. Unfortunately, I discovered that the PC was locked to a previous owner, and I was unable to return it because I found out well past the return period. By "locked PC," I mean that the computer is registered to a company that previously owned it, and unless they deregister it, I cannot log in after reinstalling Windows.When you receive a refurbished PC, it's important to first perform a fresh installation of Windows while connected to the internet. If you encounter a screen requiring a security login, you should return the PC, as this indicates it is locked. Although you might be able to bypass this issue by wiping the hard drive partitions and installing a fresh version of Windows, it largely depends on the management system used, and it usually doesn't work unless the previous owner unlocks it.

Another unbiased review. This small factor PC does the job of what it needs to, not built for gaming but does the job perfectly for your daily office and internet use. An i5, handles that very well.Granted these are refurbished or cared for after companies lifecycles them but still in good working condition. For what it's worth, it comes with WiFI, a small SSD, and your Windows License. Also perfect for your side projects, OpenHab, Retro Emulation, NAS, or routing, etc. Good purchase.
