This Actually Works Where All Others Have Failed - Recommend
I was so cynical and was about to pay an installer to put in an external aerial for my DAB tuner. I bought this based on "one last throw of the dice" after endless disappointments/I think we must have tried every type of stand-alone DAB aerial, including amplified versions - all of which have done nothing except cause frustration and gritted teeth. This thing, however, does work. Unaccountably it does so by being a long strip of very ugly black plastic with no amplification that you roll out an attach to a wall (or window). It is not thin plastic like the things you get for a car windscreen - think instead a roll of 1mm or so solid plastic sheeting. But it IS well made - and fits perfectly on standard DAB tuners (the ones that need the same sort of connection as a satellite TV). It also has an adaptor so it can be used on tuners that have the alternative female aerial type socket connection (think TV aerial type leads). So the pluses - (1) chances are you WILL get lots of channels, many of which will be with PERFECT reception. (2) It is very well made/manufactured - it is NOT a piece of junk. The negatives - although it is very well made, it is ugly. You could not put this in a window - it would look horrific and block the light. This is a very large piece of flat plastic attached to a long wire. This said, it does work well on a wall - and if you can hide it behind e.g a hifi so you cannot see it what it looks like will not matter. We have hidden most of it behind some wood panelling.Summary:Functionality: -10/10Quality of manufacture: 10/10Practicality/'looks': 1/10 unless you can hide it somehow. For us, the ÂŁ20 or so it cost pales into the ÂŁ200 minimum I was expecting to pay for someone to install an external one. Yes - that would have been prettier, but it would have worked no better. In fact, many of these external ones have their own problems when it rains.Bottom line: RECOMMEND - and highly.Note: Amazon and the manufacturer both will accept this back no questions asked and refund you if it does not work for you so there is absolutely no risk here.

A easy solution to a difficult
I had previously tried to get various adaptors and ariels to an old sharp music system and after failing miserably to find the right connection, I purchased this. Overall it does its job, the connection was easy and the sound quality and signal receiving is very good and at last my music system works. The only downside it that its quite obvious and large in size so not the easiest thing to hide. It's not pretty looking so you want to hide it away but if you do the effectiveness isn't as good. I would recommend this product as it does work but maybe don't buy it if you are looking for something more discreet

Delivery was poor - aerial is brilliant!
Aerial performs excellently and is totally unobtrusive. I pinned it to the back of my CD stand where it cannot be seen. Signal is impressive. Classic FM was marginal with the supplied aerial, occasionally dropping out and noisy. Crystal clear now. Really pleased with it.1 star given because the courier dumped outside my front door, which is NOT a designated safe place. He then reported that it had been handed to the resident, clearly a lie because (i) I was out all morning and (ii) fortunately, it was still outside my front door when I returned. This is a rare occurrence in all my dealings with Amazon, but still not impressed.

Amazing - five stars all the way!
For years indoor aerials have always been way inferior to having an external mast and aerial, they were almost a joke they were that useless. The only decent one I remember from years ago was the Cobra FM405 indoor aerial that had a built in amplifier for radio signals.I have an external DAB aerial for 2 tuners in the house, but also have a study room downstairs with a flat roof, for which an external aerial is not feasible/appropriate. What I had been using was a home-made device made from about 3 foot of plastic tubing with bits of wire soldered around it forming a loop from top to bottom. It was very good if unsightly.Reading reviews of the Monarch product got me excited enough to buy one, and I really am glad I did. The aerial is more of a flexible strip with a connector at the end to screw into your aerial input on the amp.Using the Monarch I did a new DAB scan and it pulled in so many more stations, as well as improving the signal greatly on previous borderline/temperamental stations where signal was a bit iffy.OK, so it is not as good as an external aerial (I can't pick up Mi Soul for example, but can on the ones feeding off the external aerial), but then it is never going to outperform a dedicated outdoor aerial installation. For the money, this really is the best indoor aerial I have come across in the last 20 years. It's price also is nothing short of outstanding value considering what is does.

Disappointing.....
After reading the reviews I was hoping for good results..... Unfortunately I found no appreciable improvement so no good results for me personally.....
